Prometheus Lens is working as intended (read before you downvote)

Working as intended, just not in the way you would expect. Bungie has really accomplished here, through an overpowered new weapon they were able to pique our interest. Bungie managed to get people talking about the game, albeit for the wrong reasons. Prometheus Lens streams are highly watched, youtubers are covering the weapon as well. The forums are flooded with threads about this new weapon, the community is engaged in active discussions over it, from both sides, carebears and pvpers alike, voicing their opinions. Silly people will try to defend their new crutch, while others want a more healthy balance. People familiar with other multiplayer games, will not be surprised by the incoming nerf to it, but that is not really the point. Bungie got attention to Destiny 2, a fun game that is struggling, even in its infancy. Good job guys, you did it.

  • It's a cool theory except you don't go into the 'why', and intentionally introducing disparity in your game for the sake of negative PR sounds like a really dumb motivation.

  • It's not a bug. That's not how bugs work. They usually occur in certain circumstances that wasn't fully tested. Which is understandable, but this was a static exotic. They knew the stats and what it would do. Now they're taking how long to fix it?

    • I'm not sure that developers intentionally ruining the balance of their game is something that should be celebrated.
