It was shipped with a bug on purpose. That way people will be grinding everything thing in the game nonstop for exotic engrams, thus showing high player participation for the launch week/month. Then slam it with nerfs on Dec 12th or in January.
Edit: you all were saying? Now having Xur sell it reaffirms my theory. More people playing pvp because it’s the equivalent of a having a trials weekend with the vex mythoclast unhinged....
I’m selling tin foil hats to the “bungo-riders” on December 12th

But it seems the player base is dropping everyday? I look at DT and even though a dlc dropped player count is actually steadily falling. So the left over players are grinding for the gun but no one is coming back nor should they. Not good but expected.
-
Mind Blown.
-
I’m buying this as well. What’s everyone talking about? A thin content drop? Same old bungie fails? Nope, an OP weapon that the entire dev team failed to notice before release. It’s all anyone is talking about and players are frantically grinding to get it. No proper bad publicity and high player count right after DLC launch. Win win.

Hey man you dropped this
hands you tinfoil hat
-
What a load of bullshit a bug get your head out of your arse & leave a great weapon alone
-
Did you acknowledge that DeeJ said it was bugged?
-
DeeJ literally said the gun was bugged in a tweet. https://twitter.com/DeeJ_BNG/status/938447834365313024

Just like you can go over that mountain over there?

Anyone who played Destiny long enough know exactly what I’m referencing. And know why we can’t take them at their exact word.
-
Well I played destiny since year 2. I don't know what you are talking about and I don't care.
-
Your a dick, it is bugged deej has openly admired it! Get your facts straight!
-
Lol collect your spinfoil hat in the tower bud
-
This is so true
-
Lol bump
-
-
Yup, this was no accident. Although I got it to drop, and my god is it fun to melt people lol it actually made crucible a modicum of fun for me
-
Woke af

Lol, “woke” Muted.

Next time I do hope you won’t get baited! Addictions are hard to fight, but bungie made it easy for me with Destiny 2!
-
My thoughts exactly. I refuse to believe that not a single developer used this gun at least once before launch. They are either desperate to get people to play their game or they’re trying to see how introducing high powered weapons into the game affects the game. Then they follow it up with some “bug” bullshit. Haha. A little too late. This game is boring and dead. The only thing that brought any fun in a long time is about to be fixed.
-
This guy gets it lol It makes sense. YouTube videos, pvp streamers, forum posts, web articles = publicity and people playing the game. I got one and didn't pay it much attention until I got killed a few times with it in crucible. I've been using it and it can be considered as op, but it can be countered. I don't know what this bug actually is and I guess a tweak is in order, but not a typical bungie nerf which turns it into another useless exotic.
-
THANK YOU!!! All I see on my YouTube destiny subscriptions are “you need this gun!” They are letting content creators sell the game for them so you can be a God in PvP... Good for them bc it’s moving attention away from “is the dlc worth it” to “damn I need the dlc to get this gun and run PvP” I don’t think it needs a nerf like what happened to the vex, I think maybe a longer max damage spool up time like sweet business.
-
I don’t doubt it at all, I also believe they ninja nerfed exotic drop rate. After countless heroic public events and like 8 heroic strikes I’ve yet to get one.
-
I can’t say it doesn’t make sense.. plus they’re returning some popular armor exotics including helm of saint 14. What a better way to have players grinding for their favorite exotics by overplaying activities to show to Activision saying “hey a ton of people are playing our half assed dlc!!!”
