Prometheus lens is completely broken in PVP.
It has high range, virtually no damage falloff, a damage over time burn effect, and it has the lowest time to kill in the game by about half right now. It's 100% broken. Even more then the vex mythoclast was pre nerf in destiny 1. Did they even playtest this? Its like having constant heavy ammo.
Update: Deej tweeted out that the gun shipped with a bug and will be fixed. All of you defending it or downplaying its power are unsurprisingly wrong.
Update 2: Xur is selling it. Guns still broken and needs to be fixed but at least now PVP will be an even playing field until they do.

Dear god the level of ignorance here. The gun kills in under 0.4 seconds, the closest thing in the game to that is the last hopes 0.7 seconds, and the last hope is only useful at about 15 feet. This gun can cross map and beat out scout rifles and maintain the 0.4 second time to kill. There is no defense against this gun in PVP, it isn't a debate, that's just a fact. It is, without a doubt, broken.

1 ReplyNo but seriously....nerfs really arent the answer though. I've gotten killed plenty by it and you know what, I didnt see anything wrong with it. Its not that bad, if you get hit just get behind something...literally anything. its not really hard to avoid it. Plus exotics are supposed to feel exotic, but because we have so many casuals and complainers they are now irrelevant. Most of the games I played my team wasn't staying together and running by themselves, which is the first time I've seen since D2 launched. Not to mention crucible was finally fun

Yeah the gun was broken, but it also made crucible pretty fun for a short time, I got to play aggressive again which was enjoyable.

Kinda funny how everyone cried about nerfing pro lens because you can actually almost get a 1st shot 1st kill instead of the core call of duty fans that get shot in the back and live to kill.Also why is no one crying about all the warlocks on multi hiding in their health bubbles and have over shield if that isn’t cheating.If anything bungie needs to over power all the weapons so you can at least get your deserved kills.Face it in the real world you dont get shot 30+ times and live to tell the story.

1 ReplyLMFAO I feel like the only ones who dont enjoy this are the casuals who hated D1 crucible. Its seriously not even that bad, I didn't even have to use it to still get kills. Plus most of the people who are still gonna stay with destiny and played D1 absolutely hate team shooting and camping. If you cant get kills on your own then maybe its not for you lol. You shouldn't have to rely on your team as a crutch in order to get kills and win, just your skill. If not then as they say...git gud

1 ReplyI wanted to test out some different weapons and was still able to outgun people. Its fun to use and all but easily avoidable. ITS A LITERAL STRAIGHT LINE THAT JUST MAKES YOU GO A DIFFERENT DIRECTION. Grenades and power weapons from around a corner can still beat this...dont even get me started on the advange hardlight had against it. If you really think its broken congrats, you're what wrong with destiny. You're the reason the game is boring as f#ck and the weapons are sh^t. There are plenty of ways to still beat someone using it, but by all means....just complain and cry for nerfs. When the next good weapon comes, just know that the players that actually want crucible to improve and be fun will defend that too.

1 ReplyI think this brings to light what ive been saying all along and thats that the problem with this game is the people who play it destiny players in pvp by and large from my experience atleast are complete utter cheesy pieces of shit they have no intergrity or sense of sportsmanship they just use the easiest fastest thing to kill with and crutch the shit of it there are some good people out there who wanna compete on a level playing field but most of you guys are -blam!-ing douche bags who cant win without some advantage or you have no integrity and instead of trying to out think your opponent you choose to counter op bs with the same op bs bungie can nerf and buff all they want it wont fix a thing your all cheese stick -blam!-s and this prometheus lens situation just highlighted it in an orange tinted glow lol... happy hunting guardians

Did the call to arms quest last night , every game all 8 players had the lens. Was an absolute shit fest that was about as much fun as a size 12 in the gonads.

Literally in every match I've been in since Xur started selling it, at least one person had this weapon and at average, everyone had this weapon. I remember one match where the whole enemy team had Lens and not even ten seconds into the round and we all got killed by the combined fire of four Lens. Doesn't matter if you're a good or bad at Crucible, if someone on the enemy team has this weapon, you're pretty much screwed. The only way to possibly counter Lens is with another Lens and even then the odds are 50/50. In order for me to have the slightest chance to win a match during this, I had to get a Lens of my own and even though practically everyone has this weapon, I still feel dirty and cheap for using it in PVP. In PVE it seems just fine maybe needs a little fine tuning but in PVP it's without a doubt broken. They need to fix this. I understand that exotic weapons should be unique and powerful but not this powerful. To those who still want to play crucible during this and don't use or have this weapon, I wish you the best of luck because good lord you're gonna need it.

PVP was is my favourite part of the game. Just bought the expansion to find this, I'm sorry to say but when the enemy team has 3 - 4 of these, it's utter bullcrap. Completely changes the dynamics of the match. Waiting eagerly for a patch

Tried out Crucible after the update. The whole enemy team was running this weapon and 1 or 2 shotting from huge distances. Not touching Crucible until this ridiculous weapon is balanced.

You literally have zero chance of beating someone that's using one if you don't have one yourself. And to think that this should be kept in the game just makes you look like an imbecile that needs a crutch to stand a chance in pvp.

2 RepliesI am playing the free trial and so don't have access to xur on earth. Pvp is not playable so I am constantly leaving games due to the lens. I can't wait for it to be nerfed badly and then I can play the free pvp mode, again forever.
