So Luke Smith’s excuse for his skeleton of a game is really our fault because the complainers are “Hobbyists”... seriously.

Yeah, it's such nonsense. They're just f'n lazy and greedy.
-
Gaming is a hobby, so yeah.
-
Much better than saying "No Lifers"
-
For some reason, Luke Smith and the development team decided to place "hardcore" players in a 'box' called "hobbyist". They canned "casuals" as 'tourists'. I can see that analogy, but 'hobbyist' for hardcore players? That is just a bad analogy and it is causing more issues. There is nothing wrong or derogatory with calling avid players "hardcore".
-
Correction, i WAS a hobbyist, now my hobby is counter strike.
-
People play video games as a hobby so yea
-
It is not a job. So it would be a hobby.
-
Videos games are a Hobby if you're not Pro. What did you think?
-
Because it is a Hobby? What so hard to understand?
-
3 RepliesPlaying video games is a hobby, what else would you call it. Fishing is a hobby, Hunting is a hobby, watching sports is a hobby. For me video games fill that space where others do fishing , hunting. Unfortunately some players turned D1 into an unhealthy obsession or addiction.
-
When did he lay any blame on hobbyists? At all? And what are video games for you if not a hobby?
-
I don't think he was blaming the hobbyists he's saying it's the hobbyists that they need to work on making more content for.
-
1 ReplyBetter than being drug addicts which I have equated players to. The only thing I can explain the violent, mean, nasty posts with is what would happen when an addicts fix is messed with.
-
1 ReplyIt just comes off as trying to detract from the legitimacy of playerbase concerns.
-
D1 was catered to hardcore players. D2 is catered to casuals(?) Idk. Point is, D2 is not as hardcore as D1 was in many ways. Way less obtuse ways of getting loot. Way more balanced. Instead of requiring tons of time investment or luck, they let you get the guns and use them early on. I think its better in terms of quality, but vastly worse in terms of quantity.

4 RepliesA missed attempt at threading the needle, the word "hobbyists" could be embraced by either hardcore or casual players, but (as I figured would happen) is instead used by each group to deride Bungie's attempt to bring them under one roof.
-
2 RepliesIt makes sense to me. I want to play other games as they come out in the future, and wouldn't mind the design of D2 to not be around consuming all my time.

How did he even get a word out, with all those Cheetos stuffed in his cheeks?
