mine is currently 1.07, average? but I'm getting better, last 25 games - 1.45KD

I just started playing, I have 8,500 crucible kills, my K/D ranges from 2.35-2.40, it varies day by day since it changes easily, but as of right now I have a 2.37 K/D and a 3.06 KA/D. My crucible emblem shows an efficiency of 3.46. I achieved this without joinin the meta of hand cannons and pulse rifles. I use the MIDA Multi Tool and Mini Tool (post-Forsaken), and not a lot of people use the MIDA anymore since the nerf. I just find it very satisfying to outgun someone else using an Ace, Graviton, or Vigilance with a MIDA LOL.

I have 2.12 KD and a 2.98 KDA according to Destiny Tracker. My crucible emblem in the game shows I have a 3.15 KDA. I did a simple math of proportions (2.98/2.12 = 3.15/n) to figure out my in game KD and I came up with 2.24 KD. I had a 1.5 KD across all my Destiny 1 characters and now I'm somewhere in between 2.12 to 2.24 KD. I'm 35 years old. I see some people on here talking about their timing being slower because of their age. I don't think that's the case with me. I play solo mostly. I play carefully when picking my engagements. My train of thought on how to play Destiny 2 crucible in this current state is if I focus more on not dying and staying alive as long as I can then I'm not a detriment to my team. Believe or not I don't use "meta weapons that often." My PSN is USSRush14. Hit me up if you guys are looking to find decent players.

2 RepliesIf you can't get an average straight 1.0 k/d (not including assists), then you aren't even trading kills and you're just a burden to your team. Git gud. Anything you can do above that, including assists, is gravy.

1 ReplyIf you’re trying to get better at shooters( which I’m gonna assume) the most important thing to have is good awareness and good positioning. Guns kill is important but not as important as some make it seem.
-
1 ReplyIf I get evens or 1 more kill than death, for me thats a bonus, I'm getting old now (39) and my reaction times are way way down these days. Used to be important to me during my CoD days (MW, WaW, MW2 etc.) but then I realised that they are meaningless in RL so I genuinly stopped caring so much, that made playing the games a whole lot more fun, for me anyway.

1 ReplyEdited by Rees: 11/30/2017 11:25:22 PMI have no clue what the norms are for Destiny mine is 1.7 and I feel pretty good about it. Edit: Sorry that is my KA/d my KD is 1.2

1 ReplyIn d1 I was a 1.45 across all characters, in this game I'm 1.24. I hate this game

1 ReplyYou should differentiate between solo and fireteam players. There is a difference I think. IMO, a good solo KD: ~1.45-1.5 and beyond IMO, a good fireteam kd: 2.2 and beyond In solo, to get a good kd (but also just by nature of solo) you have to play an entirely different version of D2 pvp. You find yourself trying to clean up other people’s gun fights, unable to contest objectives effectively, and in general playing the game in a much slower - wait and see - run and recover - run from 2 people chasing you - unable to push a crucial objective (unless by some miracle you have a teammate that has game-sense and is pushing with you), need I go on? Fireteam players however, easily feed each other kills, draw fire from one another, are able to sustain a gun fight (cycling shooters/health pools), are able to push in unison, have many resources to use together (nades, rift+shield, keep attention while an invis hunter flank, etc), deny access to multiple routes to heavy, need I go on?

12,485 kills 1.9 KDA 3 flawless runs

A 1 KD is average Below 1 KD is below average, but that doesn't mean your a below average player. It might just mean your the "team player" with all the assists. Anything above 1 is good and you can take some pride in being better than average. Just remember KD is not more important than fun.

2 RepliesI finally this weekend made it to a 1.00 for all modes combined. I know I am not good but I am getting better.
-
3 RepliesMine is only 1.18 which isn't very good at all, but I'm 42 so I'm just happy that it's positive.
-
1 ReplyKd doesnt really mattet
-
My KD is 1.05. might not be good enough for some but is good enough for me.
-
1 ReplyMy 13yr old is at a 2.23 i believe.
-
1 ReplyK/D is meaningless to me. I play for fun not numbers.
-
IMO bad is less than .5, average is around 1 give or take, good is pushing 2.0 range and exceptional is higher say 2.25 plus. Although I'm sure there are some replies here claiming 2.0 is barely decent, but that's not really reflective of reality IMO. But then again it's not too hard to get a high kd if you really want, run stacked, don't engage in any gunfight you don't have a distinct advantage going in, and run from everything else..Whether that makes you a good player or not is another story..

I don't consider myself all that great at PvP, but given DTR says I'm in the top 30% with a overall K/D of 1.14 and the top 28% with a KDA of 1.39 (which I find funny as hell) - I'm going to go with 1.00 to 1.29 as being the current range for being average. It's going to be interesting to see how Bungie delivers when they do get around to introducing rankings. Should bring some real interesting conversations to the forums.

I’ll give you a statistical analysis: Around 60% of players are 1.0 kd or lower Less than 10% of players are 1.5kd + Less than 2% of players are 2.0kd + Remember that this is Kd not kda, kda is what shows in the fight forever emblem, your Kd will always be lower than your kda
-
1 Reply2.01 kd atm, but I am absolutely not that good, I just have a knack for using teammates as meat shields.
-
Right now it's at 1.26 but at the beginning of November it was 1.19. I have been playing PvP to get the kd on the emblem higher and it's fun to watch it slowly rise.
-
1 ReplyEdited by NYDIBS: 11/30/2017 11:29:40 PMI have a 1.6 on my hunter. And I’m average-ish Kd struggled a bit early when I didn’t have competitive weapons and I mainly play solo so that hurts too
-
In regular PVP Your K/D is not real because it has SBMM. SBMM will force everyone K/D W/L close to 1.0. Only Trial or Competitive PVP K/D is real. I can have K/D >1.0 in regular PVP...but I believe in Trial I will be dead in 0.0001 millisecond after respawn and I still don't know what or where the opponents coming from...lol
-
5 RepliesI don't care about k/d. I don't base how much fun I have around a number.
-
1 Reply0.00 - 0.99 - Below Average. 1.00 - 1.49 - Average 1.50 - 1.99 - Above Average. 2.00 - X.XX - Performing as expected. Above is just my opinion, but my K/d is currently 4.07, but K/d shouldn't be the only indicator of skill. It just an average of how you consistently perform versus the competition.

less than 1 = bad 1 = average 1.5 = above average 2 = good 3-4 = god
