At This Point Why Not Make The DLC Free?
Bungie has put themselves between a rock and a hard place by lying about XP earned in the game as well as the lack of endgame content. I think it would be great if they did what Ubisoft did with Assassins Creed Unity and make the expansion free. It's unrealistic to expect the DLC to be free but right now Bungie needs to do something, because they're screwing this game over.

I think what all of you fanboys and haters are missing about the content and what the OP is saying is that it was a poor excuse for a DLC. Bungie has bamboozled you all to by the pathetic DLC or season pass. Its a basic reskin and clipped up on content. They made this content already its call you get the meat and cheese with buns in the roll out game and if you want say, ketchup, tomatos, onions, mustard, ketchup, lettuce, and all the fixing you have to pay extra. Its all locked away on the game disc. I supported destiny since well Destiny1 ALPHA back before vanilla destiny launched. So you guessed it I have played the ALPHA, BETA, Vanilla, and all content of D1 I paid about $175.00 for all of it. So as far as supporting a company I think I have done my fair share of purchasing products from this company. Now on to my point. You guys are way off base with you comments about a company making money. Take for Example WARFRAME and DE they make money just fine and also guess what they got nominated for an award this year, Its a Free to play game. you need more examples lets go with Path of exile GGG, its a great game I think it puts diablo 3 to shame and it also is a free to play game, They make money on micro transactions all these free games, that is within the players choice to buy in or not. Lets go one step further. GTAO still one of the best games out there its over what, 4 years old and still selling full copies at 59.99 plus tax. So your argument that bungie needs to get paid is baseless because there are way to make money just don't be shady about it. I have read review after review and hear that the DLC they launched yesterday is garbage. Its the same thing that bungie did with dark below. UBI did it right after they messed up they did a free update and content system and their games are doing great now. Origins I hear is amazing and its a full game. DE, Rockstar*, GGG, even UBI do free good content. I passed on the DLC because I new that Bungie was going to do the same thing they did last time they released mediocre garbage.

If Bungie gives out something for "free" it would probably be something in between the DLC drops and of a smaller nature (like extra Crucible maps, a new strike, etc).

Aside from very small DLC packages that have things like a handful of cosmetics or whatever, every DLC should cost. Regardless of whether you like it time, money, and effort went in to creating the content.

Well I figured I was getting an improved version of d1 and was lied to by devs. I wasted 100 bucks on the game and season pass.

Hate all you want, but I don’t think we should just be handed free stuff, and Bungie shouldn’t be forced to stop making money because some people on the forum don’t want to pay for the game. They never stated anything about xp pre-release and even if they did place the xp debuff in effect I don't blame them. Most games that have paid for items that can be grinded take months or even years before you get good paid for items, at least in this game it is only a few mods and mainly cosmetics. The fact that everyone is Making a big deal out of this has gone too far, give it up and grind like the rest, don't like it don't play it. At least you are given a chance at grinding the bright engrams.

On top of that they released a damage control blog just to lure more players in. Don't get me wrong this dlc should have been free in my opinion as it was cut content but they will never give it for free now.

Supposing all 750 members took minimum wage ($27,040/yr in Seattle) That's $20.3m per year that Bungie has to make. Obviously, higher and higher positions make more money. Activision has to take a cut of sales. There are material expenditures involved in the production of a game that need to be made up for, both for the Developer and the Producer (It costs a ton of money on Activision's part to make all the promo ads). Best Selling game Destiny 2 raked in about $60m. That can't even last 3 years for just Bungie.
