Swords are complete cancer in PVP

Its fine when someone gets a rocket, they fire it twice and they're done, but swords? It seems like you always meet the sweaty that has lasted 5 minutes with his sword, doing nothing but hiding behind a corner until he can jump someone who stands absolutely no chance against. Ive never had a good time in D2 pvp, but the swords are the topper for me, the thing that has made me completely quit pvp. I think it could be fixed if you only gave them 3 ammo, so that they cant go on a freaking cowardly, corner waiting spree.

  • I was a sword player up until last week, I got the IB fusion, started getting 3 or 4 kills per ammo drop.

  • It’s quite easy. Most people will just run right into your fire. It’s always funny to see a body flopping around when your shoot them 5 virtual feet from your face when they are sure they are gonna cut ya.

  • So you get killed by someone with a short range melee weapon, and then when you respawn you still run around blind corners ignoring the radar? The swords aren't the problem dude, its the people who can't adapt. Leave the guy hiding in corners and corridors, let him waste his time while you kill his team mates.

  • Blah blah... it is people like you who whine and complain about every little thing that help contribute to the decline of this game and the community. Is there something people like you haven’t complained about? If you can’t handle getting killed by swords, get the hell out of pvp. Stop telling people how to play. I swear you people won’t stop complaining. Scout too OP, auto too OP, Mida too OP, heavies to OP, super don’t charge fast enough, Melee too weak, Sword is cancer, rockets wont kill and This is just the tip of the iceberg.

      I’ve experienced this quite a bit as well, but I don’t mind. I think of it as a challenge trying to find the crouching bastard.

      • My only complaint with them us the person gets third person view with it equipped. They use that to peek around corners, which is why they tend to get the drop on people often. Remove the third person view and it will help.

      • I didn’t realize this at first but if you melee an Incoming attack at the right time you can counter it.

      • i switch between fusion and sword quite often and both are satisfying to play. but i can definitely say fusions are far more deadly then swords. rockets you can dodge, i do it very often, shotguns can be gunned down fairly easily. with swords they are a weapon you use if you wanna have a great laugh but if you wanna wreck use fusions. with the increased TTK you can very easily wipe out the whole team lol then again i'm sure swords can do the same but come on is it really nerf worthy?? hell no (:

      • I don't think they are a problem. I play a fair bit of PvP especially this iron banner. And I can't say I've really experienced what you describe. Sure I get stabbed in the back. But that pales in comparison to the amount of times I've been popped by a MIDA. I hate those things, but that's part of the game. I just get close enough so it makes it redundant. As for swords (I don't use them, I'm a rocket launcher fan), I find the Number sorts those pests out. As for campers, that so rarely happens. In fact I can't say I've ever played a match where I've noticed the same guy in the same spot over and over. That's why I like PvP, it's fast going, none of that namby Pamby camping, spawn killing crap you find in COD. The only thing I would change about PvP is veto maps, it gets a bit tiring when you play on the same map 3 times in a row and maybe 6 times in 10 matches. I would also like PvP weapons and gear to be separate from PvE. Not just some minor thing, but actual differences. Oh and perhaps change snipers for PvP or in general. They are never used, and shot guns seem a bit pointless too.

        • Hunter hiding sword guy is the bane of my existence. Even worse, the guy on your pickup team who takes the heavy for a sword and runs headfirst into a fireteam of three or four from 1/4 of the map away......wasted ammo. WTG, swordass.

            • swords are not our enemies. 1. It tells you when and where someone picked up a sword. 2. You can counter them by keeping your distance once establishing the above info. I can sympathize with last hope, uriels gift shaming, but swords? Come on.
