PS4 Cannot Connect to Destiny 2 Servers - My Fix!

For the past few days I've had an issue connecting to the Destiny 2 Servers. Im aware this isn't affecting everyone but for those who it is, I may have found a temporary solution, this is how it goes. You will need a smart phone with 4G Connection and the ability to Hotspot your phone. -Connect your PS4 to your phones internet -Log into destiny with your character -Go to Orbit -Switch your internet over to your wifi/lan connection (You will be logged out and need to log in again) -This time it should log you in with no problems This worked for me and this is currently how I keep logging back in online. Obviously this may not work for you but through my interpretation, it seems that destiny has changed some settings that involve the initial authentication of each account and by bypassing onto your phones 4G connection which uses satellite or whatever, you allow the initial authentication thus when switching your internet from your phones 4G to your current WiFi/Lan you have already allowed the initial authentication process. This may not work for everyone but It has & still works for me. I hope this helps some people and I hope Bungie resolve this issue. Some Side info if there is anyone investigating; Im in the UK and my ISP is Virgin Media.

Can anyone figure out what the issue is? Bungie please fix this. Thanks for the help dude. Now i can raid on D1. I am in India. So not just single region problem.

  • worked for me. never had this issue before 11/29/17. your fixed worked perfectly the first try. very disappointed fungi broke their game in more ways. thank you for the fix.

  • Update #1 - Ive changed the DMZ setting within my router and forwarded all ports on my playstation IP address and this has resolved the issue. Im aware this is an ongoing issue for some people and I don't know why it has been necessary to suddenly open all these ports however, I do believe this could be to do with the recent updates Bungie have made to try to rectify the PC problems. There is a thread on the bungie page to which I will link in with this reply in the hope that some of you may attempt this to possible rectify your problems.     • Wish I had a wifi hot spot on my phone, would it work to connect to someone else internet and reconnect to mine?
