I Find Assassins Creed Origins Boring
I find the game went away from what I loved about it. Assassin's Creed was an open world game, but a game that never forced you to really do anything extra to progress. I still think Assassins Creed 4 is the best progression system in the game to date.
I loved the loot aspect of Origins, but I didn't like how you were essentially forced to grind and do side quests to progress in the game's story. The story was always my favorite part of AC.. At least in the earlier games. Anyone else agree?

To each their own. I love ACO. It's visuals are gorgeous, the map is even better, and the story is awesome. The combat and the weapons and perks are sweet

3 RepliesWouldn’t say boring, more like tedious. I think this is the kind of game you play for a couple of hours then play something else. Personally it’s all I’ve played since release and I’ve stared skipping story dialogue, just to finish it...

3 RepliesI'm enjoying the game, but it's not better than AC2, Brotherhood, AC4, or Rogue to me. I'll probably try to beat all of the side quests and story, then shelve it.

13 RepliesI love assassins creed 4. In my opinion, I think it's the best assassins creed game of them all. I like them all however, origins just doesn't have any real history behind it which most of the titles do. Giant snakes don't really exist and the whole Egypt theme, which happened hundreds of years ago, isn't something relevant that happened in like the 1700's. I don't know if that makes sense, but all in saying is that it feels a bit fictional.

i see how having to do some side missions in order to keep up with main stories lvl recommendation is annoying to you. but sidemissions seem to be well made in this game as far as i can tell. the loot system seems like a great addition to the AC series!

I'm kinda with you. Origins is on the better end of the spectrum of AC games, but there have been some pretty bad games to come out of the AC franchise. I'd rank Origins as the fourth best AC game behind Brotherhood, Black Flag, and II.

If you purely do story quests then yea you’re gonna have a bit of a tough time because the level suggestion goes up pretty fast. But as long as you’re not rushing through the game you should be fine. The games not THAT hard

7 RepliesI haven’t played it, but from your description, as well as other things I’ve read about the game, they went to this style of game because the franchise isn’t as popular with fans and critics as it once was. In order to make the franchise seem more fresh and appealing, they decided to go to a type of game more in line with other popular open world games.

10 RepliesI tried it for 5 minutes before stopping. It didn’t feel like Assassin’s Creed in the least. Combat was entirely revamped (for the worst, imo), there wasn’t any sort of High/Low profile option, being in High profile constantly, stealth felt really.. Weird, and Eagle Vision was replaced with a literal eagle, and something called the Animus Pulse? It’s like everything they’ve slowly been perfecting up until Syndicate was just thrown away for generic RPG controls.. As I expected from everything I heard on it, it’s pretty much getting praise for not being Assassin’s Creed. I’m still going to try and get through it, because I already have it, but I really hope the series goes back to Assassin’s Creed I-Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate style gameplay, for any, and all, sequels. Origins probably has its up sides, but so far, it’s not the type of game I want to play when I boot up an Assassin’s Creed game.

I don't know if I would say boring, but it's not a game that I can't wait to get back into. I haven't played since before Thanksgiving. It's a game that I can play for a hour or two and turn it off. Reminds me of AC 3 in that way. I figure if I can get far enough into the story it'll get better.
