Dear Bungie Destiny 2 makers...
Has anybody experienced the same?
day 3 of not being able to to connect to server via PS4. Tried everything from changing NAT type to making sure UPnP is enabled. Clearing CASHE. Deleting file and re-downloading. Making sure it's not an outage... Still can't play.
Trying to find information and steps has turned me into a basic tech support in 2 hours.
Playing a game should not be this difficult. I'm just trying to enjoy them damn thing!
Is there a step by step?
Please help me or I'm going to have to return game. :(
Sincerely,
Frustrated me.

Hi all, I was facing the same problem. I am using LAN Cable from router to ps4 always when playing, but with Destiny 2 it didn't connect, or connected after along wait. I searched some forums if someone else had the same issue and landed here. In my case the following worked: I just changed the connection type from LAN Cable to Wifi. Don't know if necessary but I also unplugged the LAN Cable from the router. Hope this helps at least some of you. Apart from connection issue this is a good online space shooter game. See you in the Orbit.

Edited by FabioSooner: 12/5/2017 2:06:46 PMI had the same issue this week out of the blue and nothing seemed to work also. Then I finally found something on the web that made sense and my ISP's tech support people corroborated it. TL;DR version: Most probably Sony/PSN blocked your IP for authentication and you need to contact your ISP to find out how to reset your Internet access IP. Long version: It seems the PSN/Sony authentication server doesn't like certain types of IPs, specially shared ones. In some cases the Sony servers will block them, and it seems Destiny 2 does try to authenticate your PSN credentials every time you boot the game. As a result I also couldn't login in here (the Bungie site) with my PSN credentials, or into the PS store via web, or the PS app on my phone while connected to my home Wi-Fi. When I switched the connection to my phone's, all of this started to work again, as ThatCorsaGuy explains below. So I put my modem in Bridge mode as this resets its IP, and voilá, can login into everything again now. Of course, that means I have no home Wi-Fi anymore, but according to my ISP's tech support, turning the modem off for up to 24 hours guarantees it will fetch a new IP. I'll probably just get a separate router though. Contact your ISP and ask them how you can get a new IP. If your problem is the same as mine, that should work. Didn't try contacting Sony about the IP block, but I suspect it would be very difficult to get them to 'unblock' an IP found suspicious by their authenticating servers...

2 RepliesI Found a Bypass as I was confronted with this issue too for the past few days. -Connect your PS4 to your phones internet -Log into destiny with your character -Go to Orbit -Switch your internet over to your wifi/lan connection (You will be logged out and need to log in again) -This time it should log you in with no problems This worked for me and this is currently how I keep logging back in online. Obviously this may not work for you but through my interpretation, it seems that destiny has changed some settings that involve the initial authentication of each account and by bypassing onto your phones 4G connection which uses satellite or whatever, you allow the initial authentication thus when switching your internet from your phones 4G to your current WiFi/Lan you have already allowed the initial authentication process.
