I support restoring the things that made Destiny 1 so much more than the sum of its cobbled together parts. - Epic space magic. Hammers that made you crap a brick when you heard that KLONK! Sith lord death coming from warlock's fingers. - "Holy crap look what I got" exotics. - Legendaries with varied rolls that could make nearly any gun awesome. - A PvP where you could be a lone wolf: power weapon kiosks could give a half-dose of heavy to any ally close to the person using it. More power ammo menas more holes blown in teanshooter formations. - Highest level gear only available from raids, nightfalls, or Trials matches. It's OK to have a trophy for participation, but it shouldn't be impressive. I don't think any of those things would be that difficult to implement. A lot of it is just moving numbers.

just make D3 already, screw D2
-
Give us ALL the content of D1, with the core gameplay of Y1 - where we had elemental LEGENDARY primaries, raid gear was elite-tier gear, exotics were harder to get, but much more worthwhile chasing after since they were so much more powerful, Trials is no longer in D1 so PVP balance matters less and the game can be fun and chaotic again - just buff everything back to HoW levels with AR's and FR's going to Vanilla levels of performance. I would pay again to go back and play THAT game again, even if I had to start off as a light level 1 guardian again with not a legendary or exotic to my name.

That's never going to happen no matter how much people whine. But you may see some changes, like lost sectors actually being lost.
-
Yes, let's go back to Destiny 1, so we end up in a constant nerf cycle. Some of you need to take off the rose-tinted glasses. D1 was complained about all 3 years. Now, the people that constantly complained want it back.
-
You want them to come over and swap the discs out for you? That's kind of asking a lot.
-
Install and turn it on dip shit
-
You want D1? Go play D1. No one is stopping you.
-
Bump.
-
Lol no. That would be a downgrade.
-
D1 didn’t go anywhere, you can still play it any time.
-
So you don't want new content you just want Destiny 1..so go back to Destiny 1..?

Edited by Ravontulet: 11/22/2017 3:55:11 PMNo, less content is NEVER a better answer. In D2, the overall dumbing-down of the game and removal of any meaningful endgame has caused this backlash. I don't agree with a lot of changes made to D2 from a "this is how the game works" point of view - but everything would have been OK of there were meaningful things to do. and meaningful stuff to GET. - Heroic Strikes: I know these are coming with Osiris DLC - but will there be modifiers to make it fun, or strike-specific loot to make it, worth doing past being fun) ?? - Hard mode: raid gear, with raid specific perks, not only color changed. Weapons what were locked into the hard mode, ie the only way to get X weapon is in the hard mode. - Random weapon roles: or keep the fixed roles and give us a mod system that is not so useless). - More crucible playmodes: Put in Rumble, Rift, Combined arms, inferno, mayhem - stick all the fun stuff and game modes into its own 3rd playlist - with 6v6. How about private Matches ?? I think there are solutions to these problems and I hope that Bungie realizes sooner rather than later that there were things at the end of D1 that should have carried over to D2. Things that would have made it a lot more fun. Is D2 a BAD game, NO - but there is so much potential wasted and it should have been so much more. Do I feel bad for getting it, or the DLCs - NO - they're all paid for months ago. and I will play when there is actually stuff to do or get. MORE content has to come forward into D2 - going backwards is NOT the answer.
-
there is nothing stopping you from going back and playing D1. its not like it was deleted off the face of the earth.
Restore destiny 2 back to destiny 1
That doesn’t even make any sense when D1 is still a playable game. I’ve had this issue with a lot of people asking for the same features that were in D1 instead of coming up with fresh ideas to make D2 its own game. I’ve given a handful of cool new ideas on a couple occasions but they were drowned in the rose tinted sea of nostalgia for D1.

You can still play D1 right? It doesn't even feel that much different in terms of time to kill. Slight changes that make the game a bit more dynamic and team focused. I don't classify instant kill weapons and abilities as dynamic, typically. I think reacting to taking damage, using mobility to survive, etc. is dynamic.

A different version of your request would be better. They need to pull their D1 universe then add all the new areas, gear and activities from D2 and place it in the D1 universe. If they can do that I don't think anyone would really complain because they will still have everything from both games. From the awesome gear in D1, choices in modes in D1, new PvP modes in D2, public events the way D2 has it all in one game. That would make everyone happy.

Reinstall d1. Play.
-
Not going to happen.
-
Nobody cares that you dont care.

D2 was never D1. D1 was. If you want to play D1 put that disk in. I don't want D1 per se for this game, but I'd like pulse rifles and hand canons to be a lot better than they are now. And armour too. I never thought armour was broken in D1 but it is so dull in D2. They need to give exotics the feel of being good enough to wear. Other than celestial I'm not arsed with any of it to be fair.
