I would say vanilla D1 wasn’t better. D1 vanilla campaign was terrible, the farming for planetary items to level up armor and weapons was tedious and boring. Crucible was ok at the time. I preferred crucible more once House of Wolves came out. The loot system was terrible. I didn’t receive a legendary primary until The Dark Below... So yes I ran vault of glass with blue primaries the entire time... (Roasted repeatedly by friends and fire team members lol). Not to mention how legendary engrams would decrypt into rare armor/weapons occasionally. I didn’t receive my first exotic until The Dark Below either. So in my opinion it’s safe to say D2 is much better. DLC did nothing but help D1 and I’m hoping the same will be true for D2.
