If you didn't knew, EA got into major controversy over it's gambling pay to win progression system in Star Wars Battlefront II. News coverage covered ths scandel, and EA was forced to give in and disable ALL microtransactions in game.
Now, if only we could do something similar here for Destiny 2...
Edit: changed the title because people can't read AT ALL. I'm not talking about eververse

Edited by Fishyb: 11/17/2017 10:48:24 AMThe community did jack to change that, but don't kid yourself EA are going to reintroduce it all back in when the heat dies down. What did make a difference was the Belgium government announcing they are looking into the issue, which caused bad press and the Disney CEO so make a personal phone call to the EA CEO.

At least they aren't empty..........

It just reminds me of Saddam from south park "Dont worry buddy i can change"

2 RepliesThe main issue was the fact you don't know what you get until after opening the loot box, and what's that the same as? Oh yeah, Eververse. But still, waiting for my X to arrive and getting SWBF2 straight away, game looks -blam!-ing awesome.

6 RepliesEdited by SnowBodhi: 11/17/2017 7:48:50 AMEveryone seems to have missed the news that EA reduced the credits needed by 75% but then reduced the credits you can earn from activities and put in a daily cap. They didn’t cave, they just changed the shape of the scam to catch out people who don’t read or are bad at maths: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-41997252

7 RepliesStill pretty bad numbers if we're going off gameplay time only. Regarding that Reddit post about how with the old system it would've taken 40 hours of straight gameplay to get a single hero, with the prices having been reduced by 75%, also making grind time approximately 75% faster. Only issue with that is 75% of 40 is 10 hours. That's still 10 hours of continuous uninterrupted gameplay minus challenges and is still pretty damn high, assuming matches take about 10 minutes each so about 60 games, also assuming that you don't spend your money on anything else and devote it solely towards a hero box, then you do it how many more times depending on how many heroes you're wanting. Not so sure this wasn't intentional tbh. Just feels weird.

4 RepliesEdited by Crow: 11/17/2017 6:21:36 AMhi there mister wannabe... why are you crying ? plenty content if you ask me and i play minimum 3 hours a day... could it be you have a problem causing you to play too much and never stop ? blaming the gaming company cannot solve that. As you would literally use up all content anyways faster than intended then... If one game is not enough for you try more than one and if you finally decide to quit your addiction and play an healthy amount then ask your family for the help you need. not to mention you are going way over the line by calling them EA.... EA did something way too inexcuseable most likely due to the game having been in decline for far too long... they corrected their mistake which was silly to begin with... are you going to pull a trump on us and use EA as a Hillary free card everytime you lack better reasoning ?

I probably think has more to do whit the belgians taking notice of gambling on games aimed at 12 years old, the EU was being alerted to, so thats will be a mayor -blam!- up for EA, a -blam!- up on millions of euros

2 RepliesEdited by DuBChiri2: 11/17/2017 8:26:48 AMTo be fair...battlefront is far more extreme in stupidity than destiny 2 is. You wanna know how mad players were when they heard it would take them 2 years of continuous play to unlock everything in for Honor? I was pretty agitated by that too :/ Locking content behind loot boxes is far more annoying than content locked behind Paywalls, because, unlike loot boxes, you get what you wanted, not some random trash. 20$ for a destiny dlc, or 20$ for (shit idk what heroes are in bf2) princess Leia when you wanted Luke. See what's annoying about that? And yes locking content behind pay walls is stupid, but locking essentially p2w content behind rng in a game you already paid 60$ for is bs. Free content don't mean shit when 90% of the fun contents locked behind loot boxes ._.

1 ReplyIt's also clear evidence of how the Destiny community is specially incompetent and childish at voicing their opinions in comparison to other "communities"
-
1 ReplyWhat EA was doing is inexcusable. Bungie's not THAT far off track.
-
EA is literally baiting their own playerbase lmaoo
-
2 RepliesOh sweet summer child, you think EA won't bring microtransactions back once the dust clears and everyone was moved on to something else. Bless.
-
Ya but battlefront is terrible base code so it’s not like the game is all that great. I mean the concept and design is amazing. But the game seems like its code was written by a bunch of amateurs. But the point is 100% solid. If companies would listen things would be a whole lot better off.

27 RepliesEdited by Mali Falls: 11/17/2017 5:05:15 AMIt was all a major publicity stunt. the Devs planned all of it in order to seem like heroes. dont be fooled. EDIT: probably shouldnt say this out loud, because it should convince people to riot against Bungie and Eververse. carry on!

Yea that be a dream...
