For all those fanboys hyping curse of Osiris saying it’ll keep D2 alive.
Take what I’m about to say however you wish it’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it.
As a OG D1 player from back in the beta with over 3500 hours logged into D1
I will say D2 has taken so many steps back from what D1 ended off on.
Yes it’s cool that Osiris is finally getting his introduction goodie bet that makes every lore lover happy
However if you don’t care too much about lore what does this expansion offer you?
Things from D1 that should’ve been in the base game of D2 woopie and I bet bungie will make a $60 dollar D2 expansion bundle just to rub it in our face
Point is destiny 2 lacks so many things and instead of knocking those issues out whilst they’re a problem they choose to let them linger so they can push out DLC months later to add even more bugs and issues.
Want an example? Destiny 2 strikes and crucible game modes...
strikes were the most enjoyable PVE content in D1 imo they offered fun yet challenging battles that you were addicted to. People would build strategies around strikes to make sure they get done quick.
Crucible modes: it comes to no surprise destiny isn’t the best at meta or balance however one thing I’m so confused on is what was bungie thinking when they booted up the test server of crucible in D2 and saying yeah let’s take away choice of game modes by putting them in a causal or comp playlist... like what... I’m so lost (4v4 still is a pain too I wish it was 6v6 4v4 and 8v8 gamemodes with things like rift being an option for casual and maybe a solo que lobby for comp and causal and even a mayhem lobby
As for my thoughts on this upcoming DLC I will conclude with
Why would you continue supporting a company that doesn’t care about solving issues ahead of time? Simple that’s my question to you. Why do you plan to buy curse of Osiris when there are so many other games and things you could probably buy instead and enjoy more.
With the lack of D2s playerbase and a lack of endgame and crucible variety this expansion if you choose not to buy it will basically leave you in the dust along with everyone else because it will be another pay wall blocking you from fun. The arguement over content locking base game players is true and false. True as in the end game activities like nightfalls and trials. False as in base game activities. Think of it this way. We complained about how raids became obsolete after each expansion to go back to. Now Bungie is bringing them all up with each expansion but at a cost to those who don't purchase the expansions. One side has to suffer, either those that don't pay, or those that do pay.

3 RepliesI mostly agree. Bungie promised us a brand new experience, but I can only name a few new things that weren't already a thing in D1. Guided games is pretty much a flop, and public events are more of a chore than fun. Overall, this just seems like a huge expansion of D1 with the only important difference being the massive "2" beneath the name. But I also believe that it will get better. At the very least, the original game of d2 is leaps and bounds above that of d1. We keep looking at it from the perspective of D1 age of triumph days, but if we compare the differences between destinys year one and year three we see that over time, things truly have improved. Personally, though I am far less than impressed with the game than i should be, i believe that the coming weeks and months will show improvements, so for the meantime I'm sticking with this game until I see that there is no hope. Btw, this is just my opinion, not trying to force my view on anyone else, just saying what I feel about this issue.

1 ReplyI agree with what you said and am glad you did such in a mature and non-toxic manner, unlike most of the other folks on this forum. I'm still buying the DLC's because any content is better than none at all. I think the main reason I can do this is because I play more than 1 game at a time. When my buddy and I get bored with D2, we play other games. Simple as that. People need to seriously chill. Bungie will learn from this and hopefully remake D3 into what it should be. Actually, I'm not holding out much hope until I hear it from them directly, and hopefully once the weekly updates return. I do wish the story/lore were better and more in depth, but I can live with it due to the gameplay Destiny offers. IMO it offers the best gameplay of any shooter-type I've ever played. My point is, play something else when you get bored. Don't take all your frustrations out on Bungie/Activision. The numbers will prove to them they messed up D2.

Defending yourself from direct attacks is one thing, but this is another.

It might be unbelieveable for you but the developer are still People with Family and friends in their real life also beside the fact that they have also to solve problems in their programming of their work. 1 ReplyI'm not sure why people are actively defending bungie and or the COO DLC, or those who are expecting it will be great. Bungie doesn't give a -blam!- about what the community thinks, that is clear. Why? Because we keep on giving them our money. Anyone who thinks they all of a sudden are going to change and this is going to be a game saver is delirious. D2 is by far worse then D1 vanilla or not it doesnt -blam!-ing matter, when they had 3 years to learn from that and they went backwards. 4 years of re selling us 50% of the same content...cool. It's not about the money its about the lack of a quality game when it had so much potential and is so disappointing.
