Hunter Ability Ideas?

I know a lot of people have been complaining about the hunter abilities and their utility to the group. I was thinking, since hunters are the ‘dps’ class, what if they redesigned their abilities. One of them could be the dodge like it is now, but make it trigger invisibility for every sub-class by default. Which would make them better at reviving across the board. The other ability I was thinking was some sort of ‘hunter’s mark’ similar to WoW where it boost damage to a designated target of the hunters choosing. Also ‘marks’ it which would allow the fire team to focus fire more effectively. Imagine a coordinated team running the damage rift, with the reload barrier and ‘hunters mark’ for lack of a better term? Just an idea.

  • 1. Invisibility should be less visible and last 1-2 seconds longer. 2. Dodge should apply an overshield without healing or restoring normal shield, this overshield should last around 3-5 seconds. 3. Buff mobility's effect on jump & walk along with allow it to affect sprint.

    • A complete overhaul isn't really needed. -marksmans dodge should boost weapon handling and stability for 5-10 seconds after use. -gamblers dodge should boost movement speed and melee damage for 5-10 seconds after use. -gamblers dodge should recharge melee regardless of enemy presence to make it useful for throwing knives and smoke bombs. -dodge in general should drop aim assist and either provide damage resistance or a brief (1-2 second) overshield when in use.

      • Golden gun is great, shadow shot is fun as hell, but the arkstrider seems a bit too weak. I feel like the arkstaff needs a significant buff.

        • I love my hunter. I also have a warlock that i only play as an alt.. However my warlock does everything the hunter does but better. (except that stupid warlock jump) I use to main night stalker on my hunter but have switched to arcstrider for the pure fact that the dodge tree is so freaking good. I still switch to nightstalker depending on the situation tho. Example: Calus fight certain strikes etc. Arcstrider in pvp is so incredibly fun. Especially unlimited dodging into a group of enemies and then just cutting them up but yeah would love to see some improvements on the hunter sub classes. Only played nightstalker for the invis dodge to revive team mates and after awhile playing the same sub class gets boring af

          I think [i]Escape Artist[/i] should be brought back, but for the Nightstalker this time. [spoiler]But at this point, any reworks they do for the Hunter (Titan, and Warlock) would be most welcome! :-)[/spoiler]

        • I think hunters' ability should gave been smoke. Either toxic (enemy takes damage) or vanish (hunter disappears).

          • Hunters are not even the dps class in this game unfortunately. Title belongs to striker titan and warlocks. Its a shame really how they designed hunters in D2. They have the most mixed up skill tree in the form of nighstalker

              • The Foetracer helmet does the second thing already, but only for the Hunter in question. Voidbow weakens all enemies in the vicinity, which makes it the best support ability
