Heres How Gamers Can beat Loot Boxes ( Not With Your Wallet)

Why are gamers trying to fight loot boxes with their wallet wouldnt it be better to allign themselves with politicians. For example many politicians actually gain popularity by coming after video games and the violence in them leading to mass shootings. So wouldnt informing a politician that these games also have gambling in them for kids and are using the parents very own money.... not gain support by voters then that politician can get gamers to vote for them as well on the premise that she passes a law that makes loot boxes 1. Illegal or 2. Make companies required to show box odds or 3. Make games with lootboxes have a M or AO rating. Then gamers n the politician enjoy a symbiotic relationship n we get the games we need and he/she gets into office n can appear on the news to spread the issue. I guess ill start the conversation it took me all of 5 mins to come up with this so can u guess spread the word n refine this idea as well Can someone Start a petiTion to get loot boxes Out of gaming cuz i noticed that alot of gamers can sign a petition to get a MW2 remaster but not lift one finger to start one for lootboxes well governments are now taking a look at toolboxes n mi all for game developers to find a less harmful business practice a video on this topic is here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feZ-DahZqjY

Wants to have politicians force video games developers to eliminate an increasingly important stream of revenue for themselves simply because he doesn't want to pay a couple bucks for cosmetic nonsense that nobody needs. Also doesn't understand economics and thinks that the increasingly expensive cost to create a video game won't involve alternative methods to generate profit. Remove micro transaction and you'll see more subscription-based games or increased price tags. OP will then complain about how greedy developers are and will demand that politicians control video game prices entirely. Because that's important for reasons. Dolt.

    • Gaming affects Democracy's People in government know masses of people millions play games. In a Democracy the people get what the masses vote for. What is most popular by Gamer public dose have a say with governments who make laws to fit Democracy's. Democracy is not about what is right or wrong! Democracy's is all about giving what all the Public want. For Example, We seen Religions power removed out of Democracy's We see the Public allowed to wear guns just like Terrorists do and its legal. We seen ages of consent Dropped in at lest 3 country's it's age 12. We seen Drugs that was against the law are now legal just about all Democracy's. We seen Doctors given the power to kill people and its not murder. This is the Bad side of Democracy's and Gamer Public do Force people who make Democracy's Laws to change the laws because Lets face it there's millions of us gamer Public who approve!

      • Micro transactions for cosmetic items are fine. If you don't want to pay for them you don't have to, and it has no impact on your performance or your level compared to another player. Nothing illegal is going on in any of these games. Grow up

          • I've never paid for anything, and I have nearly all the Eververse items already. People who just absolutely have to have something immediately can pay if they want, while the rest of us can wait awhile to get it by RNG.

                • Yeah, I don't trust Politicians near any game at all. They could go and turn their back to ban violent video games, which HAS BEEN a major argument for many, and goes strictly against our first-amendment right.

                  • You don't want lootboxes or microtransactions? Don't preorder. Dont buy games from crappy publishers. Bungie is partnered with Activision the worst publisher to date. They make games for money, not the fans. Destiny 2 was made for money, not the fans.

                          • As much as a dislike loot boxes, getting politics involved sounds like a really bad idea. Plus, if you force loot boxes out, you have to wonder what they would be replaced with.

                            • People that trust politicians wholeheartedly and think they care about them are sadly mistaken. Many politicians would sell you for a few dollars. On top of that asking someone to get involved with something they know nothing about and who also has the power to make laws and regulations against it is a very bad idea. If video games didn't self police themselves with the ESRB all we would be able to play right now is Hello Kitty Island Adventure if politicians and lawmakers had their ways.

back in the 70's and 80's I dropped alot of real money into arcade games so your theory doesn't stand... AND there are no politicians on this planet that CAN be bought

Yes, because dragging politicians into this will definitely help. You give an inch, they take mile. Remember that time California tried to ban 'violent' games?

                                      • This is the dumbest thing I have seen on here in a long time let's break it down 1. Getting the government involved in anything never ends well 2. Micro transactions are the new way games continue to make money this includes almost every mobile game there is and it's not going away 3. If you don't like it don't buy them 4. There is no gambling involved as there is no way to turn your loot into real world money it's the same thing as buying any kind of trading cards or Shopkins or any of those mystery Toya that you don't know what you are getting until you open the package 5. Since all it is is cosmetic items and you can easily and fairly quickly earn bright engrams from leveling up and you can purchase a weekly rotating stock of the stuff in said engrams with bright dust that is easily obtained during normal game play who cares 5.
