NOW they f*cking tell us??
So I got banned because I play Divinity Original Sin 2 when not playing D2 with my friends, and I've used Cheat Engine to give myself some extra gold, but since I apparently didn't / forgot to shut down CE I've lost my $100 Dig Deluxe edition, and the extra $$ I've spent in micro-transactions? Guilty until proven innocent, much?
I've been using these same "tools" I use on single player games, along side online games since Everquest in 1999. Never been banned from EQ, Blizz / WoW / OW / Hearthstone, countless online games... FFIV, Rift, Aion, Vanguard... etc. So why would I think I needed to shut them off? I'm the kind of guy you WANT playing your games. I'll buy your DLC, I'll spend $ on those micro-transactions...
Just ridiculous.

sounds like u had it comin boy

In the same boat here, i play final fantasy X or X-2 while waiting for my friends to come online so i just close FFX when my mates came on, leaving CE in the background. Who'd have thunk owning a gun instantly makes you a murderer. Just make sure you dont let anyone you know buy this game, i had like 4 other people that were going to buy it, not anymore i guess. For now atleast.

Actually I'm EXACTLY the type of guy they want playing their games. I'm older and employed, have more money than time. I don't mind paying for micro-transaction stuff, and regularly will. I'll pre-buy DLC, and I buy collector's editions if they have them... (I have every WoW / OW / Diablo one; Also Aion, FFXIV, etc) I use Cheat Engine because I find some things take away from *MY* gaming experience. Weight restrictions in Fallout 4? Cheat Engine. Don't feel like wasting time looting every single nook and cranny in Divinity OS / 2 to get gold to buy that weapon upgrade? Cheat Engine. I guess the simple minded can't grasp that. Also, it's a damn good debugging tool, it's well written, easy to use and works great. I know MANY ITsec, programmers that have used it. Seeing how narrow your mind appears, I bet you probably didn't even know it probably has uses outside of "cheating".

He admits to it. Totally legit. This actually feels a lot like a "video game credit" system. IF you cheat on other games, you aren't allowed to play THIS one...

Divinity is a turn based Single Player / 4 player Co-op RPG and in no way has any competitive qualities. Cheating on this game is completely and absolutely different than cheating on a first person multiplayer shooter.

Not to mention that game is -blam!-ing HARD. Whatever, I've moved on.

I agree completely. There has to be a consumer movement to clearly state: "We will not put up with this sort of invasion on my privacy!" They should only care what is affecting their game and not what their customer has on their computer.
