I had high hopes that controller aim assist would have been removed before launch. I was sure that with my purchase of Destiny 2 that I wouldn't have to deal with broken aim assist, I had my faith in you. For the people that had the intention to have fun, fair fights in crucible, now we are stuck struggling to maintain our will to play this game.
This is a PC game. This is not a console game. If someone purchased Destiny 2 with the intention to use a controller, then they should have purchased it on a console. Besides that anyone who wants to use a controller over M+KB is insane...
You can see in the video attached that aim assist is broken. And it's ruining the game for people who want to take this game seriously. I shouldn't be forced to pick up a controller to be competitive in a game that's on PC.
You messed up, Bungie, that's clear. But a great person admits their mistake and fixes it. Give us what we want. I'm not trying to whine, I just want our voice to be heard. Do something about it already.
Sincerely, Real Destiny 2 Fans.

This isn't a PC versus console issue. I play on an Xbox Uno and I hate aim assist. More like kill your ass assist. I die more times due to aim assist than any other reason. I'm aiming at the boss, who can kill me really fast, and Bungie yanks my aim to some random Cabal who jumped or some dreg who's streaking past. It ain't rocket science. When the little dot is on the bad guy, the bullet or ray or energy bolt will hit him. If a player can't line the two up then he should play something else. Bungie, stop helping me to death!

For all those saying they want snipers back in the energy slot ..... are you quite sure about that now ?

1 ReplyMaybe people who want to use a controller didn't buy it for console because they wanted 60fps which is never coming to console. Also just say "Bungie take away precision from mouse and keyboard" since that's the same level of argument you're making here.

5 RepliesReal Destiny 2 Fan here. I disagree. It's fine and allows players to play with what they're comfortable with. The game is not competitive at all, and Kb+M destroys controller even with AA.

Edited by tennisfreak2006: 11/9/2017 2:54:14 PMI would second the motion for console. Frequently in PvE I'm trying to shoot a specific bad guy and then some douche-canoe scampers across my line-of-sight and it drags my reticle after the prick instead of letting me just shoot the target I want. Maybe, in PvE, give us the option to turn it off?
-
Agree. Remove aim assist for Kb+M
-
Edited by Darkbrussel: 11/8/2017 3:11:41 PMEven tho this was in the Beta, Bungie kept the aim assist from the Beta. And this guy has a point when it comes to the aim assist.

1 Replythose "bungie support folks" said its fair. Fair, Carl! In pvp lol That answer describes all stuff in bungie game called Aimassisteny (Aimbotsteny)
-
1 ReplyI play with a controller in PVP (my left hand has nerve damage) and routinely have my a$$ handed to me by players I can tell are using M & KB by the way they turn in-game. Maybe we're both just sh*t in The Crucible?
-
4 RepliesYup Bungie. Do as blizzard did with Overwatch after a short time (a month or two). They removed it when they saw that ppl abused it as h*ll with both Kb&M and controller, (some ppl actually changed to controller due to the "aim-assist")
-
4 RepliesEdited by Darkbrussel: 11/7/2017 3:29:43 AMBungie u said in your video that u wanted the game to feel like a PC game, but still Destiny. But so far. It doesn't feel like PC game with the Controller Aim Assist, cause no other game have aim assist for controller on PC. So far it seems like the word "Destiny" means Aim assist (aimbot)
-
1 ReplyIt should be disabled in PvP completely, for PvE it is fine!
-
4 Replies1. Get gud 2. Don’t hate people who use controllers 3. Aim assist shouldn’t be a thing in pvp
-
1 ReplyEdited by Canoness Avlaen: 11/7/2017 4:12:00 AM100% aim assist has no place on PC, PVP is a mess because of it. not to mention you can spoof a mouse as a controller and get mouse + aim assist.
-
11 RepliesI 100% play with a controller on PC. Been playing for 23 years with a controller. Mouse and keyboard suit me for work, but when I comes to video games, I have to use that controller.
-
7 RepliesLol@anyone that thinks controller is better than kbm. The aim assist is not enough to make up for the accuracy and movement of a mouse.
-
7 RepliesIf you're playing with M+K, but being outshot by someone using a controller, the issue is with your skill level. Controller with AA provides a higher base for people to do well in the game, but M+K allows for a higher skill ceiling to do well in PvP.

9 RepliesEdited by Soupreem: 11/7/2017 4:55:52 AMRewatched the video, Synge is right in the comment chain. It isn't a huge issue, the AA is right where it should be.

You really don't understand how aim assist works.
