In-game language in Halo: Reach (Please read this)
Hey there Forum,
So, this thread probably won't make sense to most of you, as most of you are Americans, but I speak in the name of the foreign Halo Fans. Well, I live in Brazil and the Halo: Reach ads say it will be "Completely in Portuguese". Well, the same thing happened to Halo 3: ODST and, as a result, we weren't able to change the in-game language to English, even though my Xbox language setup is in English and trust me, Halo in Portuguese sucks. However, in Halo 3, the in-game language was the same as the Xbox setup language. That was perfect.
So Bungie, I know Reach has gone gold already and I don't know if you gave us the option to change the language, but if you didn't please, I beg you, release a language pack update or anything like it.
And to the Forum: I know this problem won't affect much of you guys, but please keep this thread alive so it comes to Bungie attention.
NOTE: By in-game language, I mean the dialogues during campaign and Firefight. When the Xbox default language is set to English, the menus are in English, but it makes my ears bleed listening to the horrible translation.

EDIT: Wow, thanks guys. I appreciate all your support. Made my day and hopefully will make September 14th an even better day for me and every Halo Fans in non-English speaking countries
EDIT 2: Someone misunderstood me when I said "this thread probably won't make sense to most of you, as most of you are Americans". What I actually meant was that Americans and people from English-speaking countries probably weren't even aware of this issue and in [b] no way [/b] it was my intention to offend anyone. I am sorry for that.

Seriously this needs to be implemented, or bungie should at least tell these people if it is or not. I don't suffer with this but some people really do.

Trust me it Does not sound as good as orignal language! I whouldn't want to imagen a This game outside it's ture language esp. a High Profile game such as this. Bungie consider this post. Please? I don't useally look through posts this caught my eye though. Bungie listen to your fan base!

/signed. I have seen footage of Halo in German and Spanish, and lol some of the v/o sounds horrible, boring mono-tone voices and some wording in German has a few word-order problems. Can't comment on Swedish, have not heard a SWE version of Halo as I am English (I speak Swe and very very little German (step father is German though, and commented.)) But yeah I fully support folks that want to hear English as an option. [Edited on 08.23.2010 6:44 AM PDT]

Good god this thread is so full of WIN!! I am forced to play my Halo games in german and trust me when I say: it sucks. Not just the voice acting (it sucks very hard), even the translations sometimes don't make ANY sense at all...especially in ODST. Somehow I feel mocked watching online videos with first class voice acting and than going back to my Halo hearing -blam!- hitting the van in dolby surround. 99% of the other games have the option to play the game with their original voice cast...why not Halo? Please keep this thread alive!

Language packs would be great! I've already bought the Japanese Version, cause I had no choice but buying it. And yeah, it sucks in Japanese.

I agree, though I cannot relate, I always want to help out a fellow gamer, no matter where they are from. Except the Chinese, they don't count.....jk, but really.

Also there is alot of funny accents on the Spartans of noble team i bet that doesn't translate well into other languages
