Have been dealing with bad stuttering/frame hiccups since release and post 1.6. The stuttering/hiccups occur all the time, but with much less frequency/severity while in single player missions. However, almost any time while in an open world area, increasing with severity when more players are around or when a lot of activity in the environment happens (at least potentially, might just be more aware of it during those times), stuttering occurs very often and can render the game unplayable at times. Seems to be tied to mouse look, as it usually occurs while turning the camera, at which point stuttering and the last several frames will smear together in a loop for a while (text and objects/edges repeat - textures smear, aka being outside of a skybox). Post 1.6 this has become worse, e.g. last night while doing a public event was stuck in a changing loop of different frames for about 10 seconds or so. Additionally, my client has been crashing since either patch 1.5 or 1.6, on a somewhat regular basis. The video locks up, but the audio continues until the game crashes to desktop (imagine that is your debugger/bug reporter catching the crash) -- these are visible in the WER list of the DxDiag.
This is rather negatively affecting the play experience, and none of this behavior was present during the beta. If any additional information is needed to help address this, please let me know.
Using SLI with HDR, above issue occurs at both 1080p and 4k. Have rebuilt cvars without any change of behavior.

Problem still occurs post 1.6.0.2 patch... this is really negatively affecting game play. Any word on this?
---
Problem still occurring, this is rendering any sort of game play based around social activity an exercise in frustration. Crucible, public events, strikes, raid(!)... (and competitive crucible is just out of the question). Basically any time around other players and the stuttering is extremely frequent and severe, lasting several seconds at a time repeatedly. It seems to increase in severity and frequency when a lot of action is occurring and when local player count increases. Can occur very briefly at times in single player mission, to almost never. And also crashed again last night, video halts on last frame, audio continues playing, but this time the debugger didn't catch it and I had to terminate the process manually.
Additionally when fighting a boss servitor and they perform the white light teleport that sends players into the sky, notice weird multicolored box artifact during the fade to white/teleport flash.
In response to the last community update:
- All my drivers are the latest, Windows is the latest version.
- My hardware clocks are default/manu spec.
- Have tried true Fullscreen, tried disabling fullscreen optimizations, have tried adjusting application DPI handling settings.
If there are any further troubleshooting steps or additional information I can provide, please let me know. Would really like to have this addressed. Really, really enjoying Destiny 2 thus far, even with the frustrating stuttering (bit of a testament that we keep playing even while having these issues). Thanks!
And just a further note, this is not micro-stuttering, this is multiple frames smearing/corrupting in a loop for a couple of seconds, occurring every 5-6 seconds when in high-action activity with multiple people, or even just one other player. Also have it at times in open world areas without other players visible. Additionally the random crashes... (can't recall if the two have been directly linked, but believe I recall at least one instance where after experiencing bad stuttering the game locked up -- have also had it crash while standing idle...)
And just to state again, none of the above ever occurred during the beta.

Still occurring post Osiris... Sigh... - During Milestone update overlay at Farm with other players - During Raid while using Shadowshot Please fix the SLI performance... I am more then happy to provide any additional information. *** Also, could you please, please add additional storage as a quality of life feature.

Edited by Mirage: 11/28/2017 9:33:55 AMAnd wow, you managed to make Iron Banner not fun. The way loot works is nonsense. The concept of the shared loot pool might work if you actually weighted the drop rates to prevent duplicates. The shared loot pool as rewards for Iron Banner ruined it in my opinion. I loved Iron Banner in D1, by the end of Iron Banner in D2 I really disliked it (only ended up with 3 pieces of armor... 2 of which were the same). What the heck? That is bogus. So because RNG my experience was garbage. Yay. The 7th exotic duplicate overall and 10th duplicate Iron Banner weapon really make everything loads of fun!! SPEAK WITH YOUR COMMUNITY DIRECTLY!!!

Issue still occurs, no fix or mention of SLI stuttering. Crashes still occurring frequently. Also, just had the pleasure of losing an end game exotic engram in Iron Banner from most likely someone quitting at the end (end of match, saw reward of exotic , someone rage quits, immediately to next match screen, skips the results screen, and guess what... no exotic) Your continued silent "observation" process does not work and needs to change. Your studio needs to be more transparent and communicative. Come on.

Bump! This issue is still occurring as of Destiny v1.7.0.1 and Nvidia drivers 388.31. Appears to be an issue with SLI. Bungie please update with issue resolution status.

1 ReplyHello. Did you try disabling SLI? I get the same frame loop locking on 1080tis in SLI with nothing overcloked on my cpu, nor ram. i7-7700k cpu, 16 g corsair 3200 ram running at base clock. Constant 60fps throughout the game everyhere with in game sync at 60. BUT when fighting a public event with other people and doing quick damage with a lot of numbers damage on the screen and or special effects, the game loops for 1 to 5 seconds and then catches up again. Audio, no problems,. Sill playing... Also, when the milestone banner appears across the screen it happens as well sometimes when there is a lot going on screen. As I said, this all happens in SLI mode. EVEN when I lower the settings to medium it happens. ow, when i go to NV control panel, and disable SLI, the frame loop/lock disappearrs. I may lose frames at thge highest setting, but IT NEVER frame locks on busy public events, not on highest nor medium settings. For others reading, this isn't stutter as the OP says it isn't. So i think there are SLI issues that are happening here....

Still no reply or status update... come on, just be transparent. Communicate...
