Story wise maybe the Traveler learn't us some space-time folding and we are chasing the darkness to a new galaxy. Huh??

There's plenty to see in the Milky Way... and the last trip to Andromeda was... not good.

2 RepliesEdited by DeadFall526: 11/4/2017 6:29:10 PMGalaxy ? Why are you so adamant to leave. The total amount of planets, Centaurs and other off -world places that we have seen in the game isn't even 1/1000th's of the Milky Way. There is so much to see, Andromeda is pointless. I'd really like to see deeper into the Milky Way, like somewhere n the the Scutum–Centaurus arm ( the inside swirl of the MW ) . Besides , I don't think you know how far away Andromeda is, I doubt even the Travelers influence could reach there. Even at lightspeed it would still take millions of years to get there. To put in into perspective a light year is something like 10 trillion miles , the distance to Andromeda from the Milky way ( starting at the out arm ) is about 2.5 million light-years. wrap your head around that, it starts to hurt if you think on it too much. Besides we are Guardians, we live forever, the two galaxies are actually going to merge, and they are moving at something like 350 ,000 kilometers per hour and even at that speed it would take 4 billion years,You're patient right ? Fun fact both galaxies are considered swirl galaxies and after they merge our new galaxy will be a elliptical galaxy much like IC 2006. *EDIT* I just realize you said folding space... which competently ruins my entire post :(

2 RepliesBut why would we? We’ve hardly made it to the edge of our own system. Why would we suddenly go all the way to a different galaxy? It just doesn’t make any sense.
-
Well, if you look at the map/director screen in D1, you'll see our location marked as Solar System, Milky Way Galaxy, Local Group.
-
Guys, I found the Dead Orbit guy ;)
-
Weak game in our solar system equals weak game all over.
-
2 RepliesBecause it worked so well for Mass Effect

Ryder? Ryder where art thou?!
-
There are billions of star systems in the milky way, why a new galaxy when we haven't even been outside our solar system? Just think that distance would make things laggy.
-
Andromeda
Yeah don't.
-
I wouldn't mind seeing a spin-off where a sect of crazy Dead Orbit cultists slingshot themselves out of the Milky Way.
-
With a developer like bungie, you’re asking too much.
-
2 RepliesToo far fetched and unnecessary. I couldn't imagine Bungie doing this with any Destiny game ever. There would be way too much new content to add. Plus, why would we chase the darkness? It's better if it's away from us, especially if it's as far away as another galaxy.

Right, visiting another galaxy such as in Mass Effect was a terrible idea (there are more stars in the Milky Way than all the grains of sand combined on Earth, go figure).
-
I think it would be more likely we'd visit a nearby star system within our own galaxy, e.g. alpha centauri, before visiting a completely different galaxy...
