Hello, Bungie!
I passed the game with three characters and have a level of 301-305 at all. There was a raid Leviathan a couple of times.
I absolutely do not understand the purpose of patrol missions in the game and side quests, because, in my opinion, they are absolutely not needed in the game, because they are not given anything for them.
Since the strength of 260, these missions are not needed at all, since vendors do not give them anything new and there is not a single complex activity that forces players to perform patrol missions, like it was in original Destiny i loved.
In the Destiny 2, we do not need to collect resources for pumping or perform anything, since there are open events and milestones. The lines are the same every week. Can you make them different? To them you can bind and side quests, and patrols and a lot of everything that is in the game.
Look at the statistics of quests, in which players play, and you will understand what they are interested in and what is not, and what does not make sense.
Thanks!

Lol they didn't improve patrols at all, bungie are super trolls.

4 RepliesThey are for solo players now. Instead of finding hidden ghosts with a page of written text backstory, we get adventures, patrols, and lost sectors that tell the stories while we play. It's a nice change from D1.

1 Reply- They award tokens and glimmer. - They provide filler content between other activities. - They provide basic content for people that just like to explore and do random activities. IMO Patrols, Adventures, and Lost Sectors are for the people that want to actually play the game, and not just rush to the end and chase numbers. Even for people that are just farming public events for gear, these content types provide something to do (you can do a few in-between events, and you can even do patrols while doing an event to maximize time/reward). That said, not every activity has to have a reward (or a specific kind of reward attached to it). It's a game, and some things are done simply having the reward of being entertained. If these activities aren't entertaining to you, then go do the activities that are. Not everything is going to be enjoyable to everyone.

I spend more time in patrol than anything else. It's super relaxing to bum around the patrol zones.

Edited by GalaxySpider: 11/3/2017 12:44:47 PMI always do them when I need a bit more XP for my bright engramm.

3 RepliesPatrols are ways to kill time between events and sometimes do give a decent blue for infusion. The Adventures are more small story subplots. Some are wak and others I found quite entertaining. There is also lore hidden in some of those adventures. And a couple were pretty tough when done solo. Cliffhanger is really difficult if you don't start with a full load of heavy ammo. Others just take you to parts of the map you will not see anytime else, like the Hive Wizard adventure on Titan. I happily do the adventures on all of my charcaters. My very favorite one was the Music box one on Io. Had a very worthy ending to it also.

Some of the missions are very interesting. One of them has a second ending where your ghost gets possessed and doesn't remember what you guys were just doing.
-
2 RepliesGod forbid you actually play a game just for the sake of entertainment without expecting rewards.

Adventures can give exotics, and it can be quicker to do patrol missions for clan XP than PvP and public events if you're quick enough. Also, when you're 305 everything has a chance to drop at max power.

8 RepliesEdited by deljhpFOREVER: 11/2/2017 11:45:46 AMDoes anyone actually do patrols?! Other than the Kayde quest, once that is done, they are utterly pointless.

1 ReplyTo make friends, silly goose.
-
Did you hit your head on something?

Collecting tokens is the end-game. A lot of people probably don't know, but once you hit 300 (305) you can get 300 gear randomly from vendors across the game. This is to either finish out sets, or power up other gear. IMO, they should have never changed the patrol system or vendors. It was perfect in D1 (at least the game-builds I remember). Now we get everything far too fast.
-
you're losing out if your not picking them up
-
If I see a kill one when farming public events I'll do it but most of the time I don't bother
-
I got an exotic once from an adventure
-
You can get exotics from finishing the Adventures. Some of the Adventures are really interesting if you do them. One talks about Osiris a lot.

2 RepliesPatrols are garbage they didn't even add new ones or expand on them in anyway. The only one I ever do is the high value target and there is like 5 of them lol
-
What's the point of patrol missions ad side quests?
To keep you on the hamster wheel for sub-par loot "rewards".
-
Because its just fun? i just activate them when i do publics..
-
8 RepliesGood for farming exotics imo when I'm bored of public events
-
6 RepliesAnd I also do not understand why the vendors have the reputation level removed? previously it was possible to carry out patrol missions precisely for pumping the rank of a vendor's reputation, but now it has lost its meaning.

2 RepliesTo get tokens. That is the entire point of this game
