"Aim at an enemy to view its health and other critical information in the scope"
What other critical information, you might ask?
When you stay on target for about half a second, those red numbers in the scope all resolve.
Take a look at the attached image...
The number in the bottom right of the display is the power level of your enemy.
In the bottom left is the distance in metres between you and your target, as well as a gauge that fills up the further you move away from your target. When the gauge is full, you are at D.A.R.C.I.'s max range before damage falloff applies.
In the top left are two bars, each with a number. These are what percentage remains of your enemy's health (top), and shield (bottom). If your enemy has no shield, the bottom bar will always be 0.
Finally, i chose this image in particular because it shows the 'mind of its own' ornament. With this equipped, the symbol in the top right of the scope changes from 'D5' to a little picture of a Vex Harpy. You can compare it to the Vex Harpy I'm fighting in the image.
You'll also notice this ornament changes D.A.R.C.I.'s colour from blue, to Vex bronze and off-white, with their trademark red lens in the scope, suggesting a far more sinister and risky AI augmentation!
Hope this helps :)
*edit
A few people are commenting that it's a bad weapon so unfortunately all this info is useless.
I'll agree that d.a.r.c.i. is sub-par as an exotic, and agree that snipers need some love overall. But bear in mind that whilst it's a low impact sniper, it has 18 total ammo, compared to 14 for most high impact snipers, where those extra four shots make up most of the difference.
It also has a clip of 7, as opposed to 3, which typically means you're only reloading once per boss phase. It also has high stability. You'll get off 14 shots on Calus in a damage phase whereas a regular high impact sniper will get off 6.

7 RepliesI am going to stay with Borealis. Useful gun anywhere. I feel sorry for Xbox players.
-
5 RepliesDarci sucks... It's like the fighting lion
-
4 RepliesWhy is any of that useful? it's all the same information you get from just looking at the enemy..... Minus the range number, which is also pretty useless imo. It's just another great looking but lame exotic like just about every other exotic weapon. Merciless has a good perk. granted, it's just a nerffed Pocket Infinity, but it's good, and the only exotic worth equipping imo

1 ReplyWho cares about range? Aren't snipers hitscan?
-
What? Someone posted actual useful information on the forum? Is this bizarro b.net????

Edited by A Proud Goy: 11/2/2017 5:54:49 AMPower level, you say?

1 Replyis this a good pvp sniper rifle?
-
3 RepliesCan we just have a sniper with max damage/range/ high cal rounds/ 75 aim assist with a black spindle rate of fire and 4 in the clip exotic sniper. They’re supposed to be power weapons but feel anything but that
-
2 RepliesIsn't is D5 in the top corner? Not 05?
-
3 RepliesI actually like darci. I like the gun sound and scope. Large magazine Also it gives you bonus precision damage doesn’t it?
-
If you look at the final boss, does the power level go over 9000?
-
I think it can 2 shot body in crucible when the assistant crap is active.

D.A.R.C.I is fun to use, and is a great weapon for any sniper, that is, if you aren't in a video game of course. Takes too long to actually check such info whilst in combat. However if you want to stay a mile away and take pot shots at goblins on patrols, it can be kind of fun.

3 RepliesEdited by CookieNiki: 11/1/2017 7:34:05 PMGreat information, thanks. I only have one question. What's that vertical scale on the far right of the scope?
-
3 Replieswould the top right picture also indicate the weak spot on enemies?
-
2 RepliesI was really hoping that you were going to explain how using that info stops D.A.R.C.I being garbage but apparently not... seriously, we need an exotic sniper that isn't shit, Borealis is also useless outside of elemental matching for shield damage...
-
I associated it with HAL 9000.

I was kind of disappointed when I found out it showed percentages instead of health as a total number. And while the power level was nice...
Vegeta!? what does the DARCI say about his power level!?
Just doesn't have quite the same ring to it... All in all, would use it more if it gave health and shields as a number rather than a percentage, since I can see the percentage just by looking at it. And power level is kinda meh since all you need to know is if it's bigger than yours or not. Which is pretty easy to tell sometimes.
-
3 RepliesSounds like it would be most usefull for tacking boss health, which often plays a role in how the enemy behaves, or how the encounter will change. If someone on a well coordinated team knew at what hp% a boss fight changes, you could control the encounter really well
-
All ultimately pointless :)

5 Repliesthe question is... is it worth? does it kill, or legendary scouts are better?
-
It's just crap!
-
This is a really neat little tool for field testers, particularly the range in meters.

Thanks for the info!
