Anyone help please! same crap frame rate no matter what my settings or resolution - decent pc

GPU: R9 390x - XFX CPU: 8350 o.c. to 4.6Ghz - water cooled - tried it not over clocked as well Ram: 16GB 1866Mhz Issue: Everything worked great in the beta, I was even getting around 50-60 FPS with my triple monitor set up at medium/high settings (only tried this just to see how it was working, I normally only play on 1 screen). With the actual game, I cant break a constant 60 FPS even on 1 screen set to the lowest settings at 720p. The frame rate stays the same (28-68) within 1-3 frames no matter what the settings or resolution (I tried them all 720p - 4K, Low - highest and every combo in between) I have tried both of AMD's new drivers 17.10.2 & 17.10.3 I know it cant be my CPU because cpu monitoring says it never really goes above 40%-55% usage. I have no problems with any other games that I have played I did a full registry repair and system scan just to be sure PC is fully updated, even forced the Windows 10 fall creators update to see if that helped My internet is 100Mbps + up and down, so not that Just want to know if anyone has any suggestions on what to do because at this point I'm kinda at a loss of ideas. please any help would be appreciated

There's a sneaky performance microcode that prevents AMD users from experiencing full performance, to benefit Intel. The fps counter in game is a placebo, no wonder Bungie is not allowing people to use Riva OBS or any other fps screen analyzing, since that would show what the in-game counter actually is lying. If you don't believe me, have you ever experienced screen tearing when maxing out? I put all my things on high, and I get 80fps in patrol 90 in crucible 200cap in loading screen and flying around. Put everything on LOW, restart. 80fps all over, 200cap in orbit. Put things in a middle custom for "performance reason" still capped at the 80s when playing the game, 200cap when in orbit. When I look at other guardians, that fps drops instantly from the 140 i get by staring at the wall, to looking at one other guardian. This is micro code of the sneakiest level, to level the playing field for players with pc builds of lesser performance. Whats makes me salty as -blam!- is that I got into pc gaming for Destiny 2, went through all of it. Even built a -blam!-ing crypto currency rig to mine while I game. If they don't fix soon I'm going to the Media.

  • Wiped my entire PC and tried again, just for fun... still the same problem a month later... I love Destiny and I want to play, but I just cant. It just mentally hurts me when people with a PC that costs half of min can get better FPS... its kind of ridiculous.. they made a patch for effing phenom CPU players... that CPU is nowhere near supported... yet I cant get my PC to get 60FPS at 720P that is above their recommended specs for the beta (before ryzen came out) WTF Bungie... I have a 390x GPU... wasnt even a budget one... top of the damn line for amd B4 Ryzen.. . honestly If I could get a refund i would, but I couldn't find the option.

yo ! My frames suddenly rose from 32-35 at the Farm, to constant 50 after the Creators Fall Update for WIndows 10. The version number is 1709. You should try it. *Edit Sorry after tabbing out of the game, they went back to normal..... ':D

  • I have basically the same hardware as you do and the same problem. It doesn't even matter if you put the resolution scaler at 25%,so everything looks pixelated. The frame drops in some regions are huge.

  • Yea seriously now I cap out at 20FPS now. Good job Bungie. This is what I had been posting before this garbage hotfix. Battle.Net Tag: HellsAssailt#1978 PC Configuration: GPU -> 1080 Founders Edition GPU Driver -> 388.13 CPU -> i7 - 4770 RAM -> 16GB OS: Windows 8.1 64bit DxDiag: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0nq-kKQoykUeGQ3SHhFQUlXZG8/view?usp=sharing Nvidia GeForce Experience recommended settings: Anti-Aliasing -> SMAA Character Detail Distance -> High Depth of Field -> High Display Mode -> Full Screen Environment Detail Distance -> High Foliage Detail Distance -> High Foliage Shadow Distance -> Highest Graphics Quality -> Custom Light Shafts -> High Render Resolution -> 100 Resolution -> 3840x2160 Screen Space Ambient Occlusion -> HDAO Shadow Quality -> High Texture Anisotropy -> 16x Texture Quality -> Highest Wind Impulse -> On Nvidia Multi-Frame Sampled Anti-Aliasing -> Off I have noticed I am for what ever reason averaging 48FPS while playing. However I see it peark up to 120FPS but also go as low as 28FPS. This happens while on the Farm or paroling the EDZ. I was also noticing it during the "tutorial" campaign missions. It makes the game hard to play and enjoy when my screen stutters randomly when I can be in these spaces all alone or with other players. The game is installed on an SSD. I feel my average FPS should be higher than it currently is and that I should not be dipping so low where I feel like I'm playing a slide show. I played with my Task Manager open with the performance tab up. CPU never went over 40%, Memory hovered around 36% Disk 1 (the ssd) stayed at around 25% usage. I have tried changing the settings for lower ones and still the same issue.

    • A similar problem with my Radeon R7 M445. Any settings that do not set FPS will always be 3 frames / second. Solve this question!
