Game freezes, then crashes to desktop with no warning or error code.
GTX 980
i-5 4690k @3.5 GHz
16GB RAM
Latest Nvidia drivers as of time of posting.
My game is freezing for anywhere from 5-20 seconds and then crashing. This happens at completely random times, although it's just my luck that this tends to happen right at the end of an adventure/quest. I have seen absolutely no response from Bungie relating to this issue and its really killing my enjoyment of the game. I need this fixed before the Raid drops! Please, help me out Bungie. If anyone else is having this issue, please post your specs and description of this issue below. Also upvote it to keep it on Bungie's mind.

That said I’ve been following this issue closely because it’s been affecting me. Bungie hasn’t acknowledged the issue. It’s not on their known issue list so the chances of it getting fixed before raid isn’t likely. Honestly I’m putting the game down, this crashing is one of the worst experiences I’ve had in gaming.

My game would freeze / crash when I would ALT + TAB or Choose a destination and also during cut-scenes. After much research, I remembered when I had another game that would do this so I gave this a try.. Installed EVERY .NET framework that windows 10 would let me install... https://www.microsoft.com/net/download/framework If not using windows 10 then install the Direct X https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 ALL the visual C++ packages that your OS will let you install https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads And for a FINAL NOTE... Make sure you go into your bios settings on your motherboard and DISABLE your on-board video card if you have one... I was freezing and crashing quite frequently and after I did all this, I can now ALT+TAB with no problems so far and have not froze or crashed during cut-scenes or DESTINATION traveling. hope this helps others......

Same issue. The game freezes (but the music still plays). After a few seconds the game crashes without an error. This happens anywhere from 1 minute in game till 4 hours in game. CPU : Intel i7 7700k GPU : ROG STRIX GTX1080 O8G GAMING RAM: 16GB OS : Windows 10 64 bit

i'm having the same issue, 3 times, 2 times today in 2 or 3 hours of play its not my hardware for sure i7 6700k GTX 1080ti 32gb ram iv'e not experienced this on the lauch week, this is starting to happen this week

6 RepliesSimilar specs here. i5-4690k, 16GB RAM, GTX 1080, latest drivers. I've been having the same problem since day 1. However, I was able to play for about 4 hours total last night with no crashes after disabling my Bitdefender AV. I saw a couple references to that working and tried it last night. It at least anecdotally worked for me. Most of my crashes have come within 20-30 minutes of starting the game, although I have had a couple times where I went 2 hours without issue. But last night was the first day that I haven't had a single crash so far.

1 ReplySame is happening here. Today has been especially bad, 4 freezes and exit on 3 hours of gameplay... Also had 2 instances of framedropping from 120 to 40 fps, but that is the memory leak problem i guess. i7 6700K, 2x GTX980 in Sli, 16gb ram and win10 with updated drivers.

Same issue with similar specs. I've been logging my crashes over the past few days [url=https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1E85zBktvSIu90I5MGJXqmcPYtxcg8ynr_DgjU-_99IM/edit?usp=sharing]here[/url]. I crash on average once ever hour to hour and a half.

I have been unable to play since release due to these crashes. I have tried every possible troubleshooting step you can.. nothing helps. I paid $100 for a game I have not been able to play for more than 15 minutes and another crash. This issue is not on Bungies list of known issues. This error and crash has been a problem for years in the console version of Destiny and they NEVER fixed it. Now, TONS of PC users have this problem and I have doubts they will ever fix it. I cannot believe that Blizzard allowed themselves to be aligned with this crap company that treats their customers with so much disrespect and write the worst code of any game company on earth.

Same exact thing happening for me too. Amazing that people with phenom cpu got attention before people with entirely new pcs. I crashed 4 times in 20 mins tonight. Iam powerlevel 287, so iam really like the game, but iam so close to stop playing now. No way i can raid with clan with the game in this condition
