They released a neat little app for the Amazon Echo that allows you to call for help from you clan, or gather them together to raid or whatever, but the problem is, there's no clan chat in game for which to see that stuff. It just goes to the bogus clan chat on the website. Additionally, a feature that is sorely missing from the current in game chat are time stamps, and some kind of PM sound. Countless times I've missed messages from my friends because there's no audio cue that you received a message, and since there's no way to tell what time I got the message, I don't know how long ago I ignored my friend for the hundredth time.

I enjoy D2, but to make the most out of it, we need basic social features. There's a middle ground between all-chat all-the-time and the current eerie silence. It's great to have both, especially to keep up with friends who are playing but not necessarily doing the same activity as you. [i]- a bigger Clan limit[/i] New players like me spend the first part of the game without in-game contact. Clans focused on raiding don't want to use up slots on rising players. A bigger limit will let people join together as they gear up.

Bump; I've been having a lot of fun with this game over the last few days, but when I wanted to find a clan or group to do the nightfall milestone, I was completely taken aback with how awful the social aspect of Destiny is. Not only is the idea that finding a clan and/or group is to be done outside the game, through a mobile app, absolutely moronic, but those systems aren't even good (and even if they were, they would still be dumb). Overall I was prepared to spend some time on this game, and even recommend it to friends, but I'll hold off on that until something changes with the social aspect.

Why would you release a game with clan abillities without a proper INGAME clan chat? DO YOU REALLY believe everyone of my 15 members clan is going to use the website for chatting? Really? I cant believe this. This leads to one point: You dont want us to be social. But then again - on the other hand - you implemented clans in the first place... WTF is going on here. This is just confusing and doesnt make ANY sense.

Come one really BUNGIE we didn't gave you enough money to give us a lfg chat , global chat to socialize and chill (on/off option) , guild chat , and looking for guilde chat ? Seriously some ps3 games had a chat and we are in 2017 10 years later , and noway to talk to anyone .

OH, and fireteam max limits of three is mind boggingly terrible considering PvP is 4v4. Want to take a 4 person fireteam into PvP? Too bad, Want to group with your 4 friends in your clan? Too bad. I don't understand how a game in 2017 got this point. It's bad enough it's peer to peer, but we can't even group or communicate properly.

without ingame text chat (clanchat at the least) this game is gonna die an awfull death! I've been playing Destiny 2 for 2 weeks now and tbh. I haven't had any contact with 1 person so far into the game. Its only moments before im gone, and so are others. how can you design a game in 2017 without such basic features??

6 RepliesPC needs these tools. I need to do Nightfall, none of my friends are on. I can't even type in the text box to my clan to see if anyone wants to run Nightfall. You can't communicate via zone chat for strats, help new players, organize for public events or strikes. That might be ok for console, they are used to it. But, not for PC players. A simple /shout for everyone to hit the same public quest instead of running to each one of them, see who is there. It is backwards for a game to be like this and MMO PC players are used to these features and it is frustrating to not be able to communicate with anyone. I can't organize a fireteam or team to be able to use team voice chat. This has nothing to do with technology or servers, it is because they didn't want to deal with toxic players in chat. Lazy devs are lazy.

We do really need ingame chat for Zone, Vicinity and Clan. How are we supposed to find raid groups, nightfall and stuff without having any friggin communication? I know you guys want to remove the toxicity of tthe players but with this little social interaction the game will die out in 2 months time because it feels like you are playing by yourself with NPC's that has battletag names. like seriously? This is 2017 not friggin 1999 Playstation 1 game with online features. Bungie, even the firggin voicechat doenst work?
