Since getting back to the new Tower/Wall-section I have been wondering what happened to all the other towers you could see along the wall in the original Destiny
You even get to visit one of these towers, Bannerfall, in both a story quest and PvP map.
Looking around the wall from the new tower, none of these can be seen, nor any ruins to suggest that the Cabal completely destroyed them. They just... Vanished...
I had wondered why the vanguard settled a wall section instead of one of the extra towers that may be less damaged than THE tower, until I actually looked to find they were just gone...
1 ReplyAlso I kind of find it odd, they set up shop right next to where they were attacked. How doesn't it make more sense for us to still reside at the farm...instead of literally going right back to where we got our asses kicked

Most of those Towers are unoccupied. But the Red Legion may have blown them up indiscriminately the same as they did ours. The truth is Bungie wanted a new social space that was not the Tower but close enough to see it.

8 RepliesDuring Twilight Gap every single one of those Towers was lost aside from Bannerfall and The Tower. It’s assumed that all are either too damaged internally to occupy or are destroyed completely, and after the battle against the Concordat in Bannerfall that tower became a Crucible-only location as a memorial The Tower was damaged in the Red Legion assault and is still being rebuilt, and Zavala is overseeing the repairs to the City Wall, so it makes sense to plant the Vanguard there

7 RepliesWell as we saw in the RoI mission those towers are mostly abandoned but still have automated defenses. The cabal very well may have given them the same treatment they gave The Tower. But that’s just speculation.
