Exo Stranger is Still Canon
I was on Io the other day and scanned an object near one of Cayde's chests. My ghost said something to the effect of: "I wonder what ever happened to the exo who warned us about the Black Garden. I hope she's alright." Has anyone else encountered anything like this? Other scannables? Here's hoping the Stranger makes another appearance before too long.

8 RepliesTheoretically the Exo Stranger can be anyone, but I doubt the personality we know her as will exist unless the Heart of the Black Garden ritual starts again. She hated the Vex more than the Hive (logically impossible for anyone in this universe except for Toland) and her leading us to the Black Garden seemed to imply that the ritual was complete and the Vex reigned supreme in her future. Now that the future is gone, her as we know her shouldn't exist unless something else on that scale happens. So, Ghost, she technically is alright, but she's also not because she shouldn't exist as we know her.

1 ReplyI honestly think we will see more of her with the next DLC. I think she works with Osiris. That is just my opinion and maybe some one has some obscure bit of lore to tell me how wrong I am. On a separate note the MIDA'd D2 Lore card it talks about other realities with better tech so maybe she is from one of those?

She will comeback...eventually! Maybe our guardians will meet her BEFORE she gains the abilities to time travel and has knowledge of the Black Garden.

Shes not coming back, I personally think that when she kept teleporting away she was in another timeline where we were battling the Red Legion. Most likely, this is false. On another note, she cant come back because she is dead to Bungie.

Its not that she's not canon its that she won't make any future appearances for her storyline because it was "wrapped up nicely". I know another line the Ghost asks why anti-authority figures always call him little.

I’ve seen that one and another that also references something like, “what is it with mysterious hooded figures popping into our lives?” Or some such. Found it week one, so memory is a little foggy on the exact location/dialogue.

I thought the idea was by stopping the black garden and the VoG we changed the time line so that future didn't exist any more.

Bungie never said she wasn't canon, just that she wouldn't be making an appearance in this game due to them (or Luke Smith, I guess) feeling like her story was "finished", which is far from true.
