That's not the main reason. Bungie hasn't optimized Destiny 2 for AMD CPUs and similar processors and because of it Destiny 2 crashed 4 times in about 2 hours (with an extra 10 minutes due to constantly manually restarting the PC from those crashes).
Furthermore I have a hard time understanding what you are saying.
The least I'm understanding:
-Crashes on processors with "support for SSE4.1-4.2 and SSSE3."
-Your friends have similar processors and are reporting the same problems.
-Game memory/data leaks causing overloads?
-PC resorts to recovery state (where I forcibly shut it down and turned it back on again; is the outcome of every crash on my end).
-Defrag hard drive? What 'thermal paste'?

-Defrag hard drive? What 'thermal paste'?
Thermally conductive paste. It is placed between the radiator and the processor (inside the case). Serves to improve the heat output from the central processing process. If you can not do it yourself - contact a computer service center or a specialist.

A friend had a similar problem in another game. In principle, this may be due to poor optimization (sometimes incorrect processing of the command). Just check the dust in the computer and the condition of the thermal paste on the processor. It is not necessarily because of this, but it can have an attitude.
