read if you played destiny alpha beta

...and let me know if you agree with this: Destiny 1 started off almost exactly like this. Vanilla was somewhat bland and the grind was atrocious. It sent you on an infinite loop of doing the same monotonous things over and over again. Then the raid came. People actually made three of the same character to get more loot and get another chance at those coveted raid armor and a sweet g-horn (thank you Xur for selling it week 2). RNG was a bitch. People hated that they couldn’t get certain exotics. -blam!-ing LEGENDARY ENGRAMS would turn blue. People were pissed and rightfully slow. And to top it off, they kept saying we’re hearing you guys and everything is on track. I came on these very forums and did a poll to see what people thought of the game and was labeled a sheep for expressing my enjoyment and thoughts of the game at that point: Halo mixed with Guild Wars 1, or something to that extent. I love D1 to this day. Destiny had problems, but we knew more content was coming. Some of us had prepaid for season passes and wanted to see that content. Guys, the third subclass option was LOCKED! And then came Crota (thank you for helping with Platinum trophy). Remember the thrall run??? How about the Bridge cheese and the heavy ammo glitch? How come the game runs like this?? Well guys, I want to remind you that D1 was also a PS3 and XBox360 game as well. I played the beta on PS3 and had played it on PS3 until Bungie had to deviate the two different generations of respective consoles. The previous generation was holding them back and needed to separated in order to deliver on everything they promised. D2 has to deal with PC now and i honestly think they poured A LOT of resources into rejiggering the controls and frame rate and resolution. Let’s not forget that they partnered with Blizzard and have an obligation to give PC the same game that we are currently playing on consoles. Again, resources have to go into these things. D3 was a very different game by the end. You could infuse armor and weapons, quest exotics were abundant and they were constantly toying with Crucible nerfs and buffs. How many kinder-guardians we’re running through the tower? How many of them are in there right now? I bought a PS4 for Destiny and actually had to take a break from the content because there was an overflow of it, especially by the end as far as introducing the hard more raids. Guys, vault of glass was my favorite thing ever (thank you for flawless trophy help) but never got a chance to do it on Hard because there was just so many other things i was trying to do. How many of you came back? How many of you never left? How many of those IM QUITTING DESTINY posts did you read? History repeats itself. i lurked the forums for information, even though they’re toxic, because through all the yelling and negativity, I believe many of you have amazing ideas (and cheese). i believed (and still probably naively do) that Bungie was listening and not making any adjustments to the sandbox until the time was right. D1 is still my only Platinum trophy and i haven’t even 100%ed the DLC trophies. I am so proud of that trophy and you can bet i’m going to platinum D2.yes guys. i’m going to keep playing. i have a 300 power level warlock (master race) and. 292 Titan. i’m starting my Hunter tomorrow because i have the day off of work. now why the -blam!- would i do that.. well, because i love the game. i believe they’re listening. even if it seems like they’re not. because i’ve seen this before. time and time again. call me a fanboy. call me a sheep. say Bungle is gonna fail because they’re not listening. Guys, i guarantee you that they are. This is the company that made every FPS game envious. Remember the term Halo-killer? Sorry, i never post and have been thinking about this at work all day. I know the majority of you won’t agree with me but I know there are those out there who do. i’ve seen your posts all day with 0 upvotes. i haven’t ever upvoted one, but i want you to know that i’m here too. Thank you for reading, A Destiny Beta player. so here’s the TL/DR: D1 wasn’t perfect. it never will be. nothing will be. And neither will Destiny 2. But i love Destiny 2. History repeats itself. Bungie loves loops. okay, now start the toxicity and name calling. oh, shoutout to anyone who played Halo: Combat Evolved on PC with an AOL dial-up connection (:
wow i feel old after writing this.
• Thinking back to the early days of Destiny 1, from the Alpha to launch, the thing that kept me coming back and enjoying myself was simply having fun playing the game. It just felt good to go and mess around, wander the moon for resources and maybe luck out and encounter a public event. I don't have that same feeling with Destiny 2. I go to a planet, I can see exactly where a public event is going to happen, so I go there. I could wander around but I already found all the secrets because they're on my map. I don't really need or want planet resources because they do the same thing as tokens but worse. I could always agree that D1 vanilla was bare bones, but never disliked it because it was still fun and goofing off exploring would always be rewarding in some way. D2 just isn't fun. Nothing about it feels rewarding to play, so what's the point of even trying?
