I launch destiny 2 and the first 30 minutes of gameplay is smooth flawless i play on all high settings and everything is beautiful. but after 30 minutes i start to get screen tearing. my fps stays at 90 like always but the screen tears so much that i have to restart my game. ANY1 HAVE A FIX

I have same issue GTX 970 4gb gaming edition, i5 3470 3,4 ghz, 16gb ram 1600 mhz dual channel, SSD hyperx savage, not having issue on other games but on destiny 2 after I switch maps or play for a longer time the game becomes very choppy, I have to log in back again and its smooth for a while.

Changing my zone in Battle.net from Americas to Europe fixed the performance degradation issue for me. I have no idea how or why. Can someone else try it out and report back if it works?
-
Same Here!!!!

This fixed a very similar issue for me: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/236862816?sort=0&page=0 (and you dont have to leave your clan if you are in one and this works)

Same here..

1080 nvdia gpu here, high end pc rig, my graphics tearing starts when entering Legions Anchor in EDZ and Lost Treasure Caves. i am in a clan and got the game in Windowed setting.
-
i have found that playing crucible exclusively, you can play for around 2 hours without memory leak beginning but playing patrols, public events, lost sectors, strikes, and adventures kill your fps very quickly. hopefully this is fixed soon
-
Same problem here! And i'm not in a clan!!!! 1080TI R7 1700 16GB DDR4 3200

I'm having this issue where the longer the game runs, the worse the FPS gets. When I restart the game everything goes back to normal. I start noticing the drop after 2 hours ish of gameplay.
-
Having the same problem. I think this happened after i joined a clan.
-
We have few people reporting already that leaving your clan fixes this problem. Test it and report back! This might be a quick fix for this until Bungie figures this out.
-
Same thing with me plz help.
-
yes, it is a real problem. Same here. Wasnt there on day 1.
-
Can you post what settings you use? Since this memory leak takes some time to "mature" perse. We can narrow it down.
-
Having the same issue!!!
-
I have the same issue it's a pain to have to reload the game every hour just to keep it running good.
-
Same happening to me. Having to restart the game constantly is really degrading my enjoyment.
-
same issue for me too, the tearing is ridiculos when you move the camera on a horizontal axis with the mouse. we need a fix plz
-
https://youtu.be/_yAOvluVlRM gameplay choppy when turning with high fps and low settings

More people need to upvote this and get Bungies attention on this issue. It's been happening to quite a few people. Definitely seems like a memory leak and most report the same thing happening. Game runs great for like an hour or so, and then it just goes to shit. A restart of the game fixes it, but who wants to keep having to do that?

Edited by Hurtbringer: 11/1/2017 10:15:22 PMIt's not an extended play issue for me. I have this issue and it starts in under 5 minutes so for me to be able to actually play the game without the worst stuttering I have ever seen I would have to restart about every 2-5 minutes. I haven't touched the game since october 26. after playing it for 2 days and suffering through the worst stuttering in the history of mankind i had enough and didnt even touch any end game stuff. as soon as the campaign ended I left the game and haven't touched it since and wont ever again until it gets fixed. If they do fix the stuttering, which I have little to no hope of them doing, by then it will most likely be too late as after having the games shelved for going on 6 days now I am not even excited about ever playing it again because the experience is already ruined. I would demand a refund but i bought it through greenmangaming. not like blizzard would give me a refund anyway after playing it for like ten hours and beating the campaign. worst purchase of the year for me, huge waste of $53 for something I can't even play, bungie has no support email, won't respond to my posts, and give us a cryptic message like "we are aware that there are 'hitches' (they refuse to say 'choppiness' or 'stuttering' or 'we completely f-cked up') after 'extended periods of play' " (they again refuse to acknowledge that it's as bad as happening withing a few minutes because that would look really bad for them to admit how horribly they fked the game for a lot of ppl on launch). It's like they are night thieves with no way of ever finding them and getting any answers. They steal your money and give you an empty box in return then if you are lucky enough to ever catch one and tell them your problem they move very, very, very slowly in the night back to their den to "fix" the problem. but since they are night thieves your chance of ever seeing that box back with a working game in it is about a 12% chance. If they fix this problem. Not lessen it, or try to make it "more tolerable", but completely wipe it out and make the game run smooth which is the main reason I own a pc worth over $2500 is to play FPS game smoothly and with a mouse and keyboard, and if they fix it soon enough, I would even throw some money their way in support on their in-game loot things. But for that to happen it needs be completely fixed and fixed soon.

Edited by Sanicek: 10/28/2017 5:30:58 PMIt's definitely something to do with social systems, I played the game without issues first 2 days then joined a clan at almost 100 members, bam have to restart game at least once an hour since then. Don't wanna leave the clan for obvious reasons. After observing this issue for 2+ days I can very clearly see that the more guardians you come across your game session the worse the issue gets. I have to restart after about 2 public events with moderate attendance since the game play slowly degenerates into slideshow mode. Playing strikes or crucible lasts a bit longer since I guess you meet less guardians and they don't appear and disappear all the time. This is clearly a widespread issue affecting everyone in clans, every day I am hoping they will deploy a hotfix or reroute the clan loading to correct Blizzard internet pipes. Starting to get disappointed that this isn't solved yet. This needs to be sorted before the raid comes out. I hope there aren't corporate shenanigans and throwing the hot potato between Blizz and Bungie since it involves bnet as the social back end.

Edited by Mango: 10/28/2017 4:31:28 PMHappening to me daily. And it's not just "after playing for extended periods of time" like in their bug thread. Both times it started happening within like 30 minutes of playing, and then it would restart pretty quickly after restarting destiny, like within 10 minutes... Doing public Events seems to often be a trigger for it to start I've noticed. Times I've had 2-3 hour sessions with no issues at all, usually when I'm doing only solo story missions. I'm in a 100 man clan if that's really relevant, I don't want to leave it because it will be full and I won't get back in and lots of people said leaving clan didn't work for them >,> Game is unplayable when it happens, literally feels like slow motion like everything is moving through water meanwhile the FPS counter shows 80+. Even setting all graphics settings to the lowest possible (I'm usually on mostly medium settings) doesn't fix the extreme choppyness/lag/slowmo... Today I logged in did 2 story quests for a hour~, all fine, then I did a single public event and right at the end the choppiness/lag started. Perhaps has something to do with public events/p2p? Sigh, I just log out every time it starts happening, the frustration is not worth it, real buzzkill because I love the game otherwise. gtx 970 (latest driveR) i5 2500k 8gb ram
