I agree that a material change post beta that causes the product to no longer function on retail release on all the hardware on which it was beta tested causes me to raise an eyebrow. There should have been a clear statement about this change in my opinion. Beta is as much a marketing tool as it is a testing ground nowadays and as such many people buy the game on the strength of the beta alone. At the very least I would have expected a specific reference to the requirement for SSSE3 or the associated hardware to be included with the minimum specs pre-release. It would have been a known issue for sure! There is an argument to say that not highlighting the issue to the consumer post beta and pre-release (bearing in mind that pre-order is generally a requirement of beta entry) is mis-marketing and a potential case for trading standards. Whether it was deliberate or not I'm not in a position to say but I've seen class action raised against some big companies for less than this. The only caveat I would add is that as long as Bungie and their partners are still willing to grant a full and unconditional refund to those customers that have been affected then your rights as a consumer are mostly still intact. Paired with an acknowledgement of the issue and possibly an apology for the oversight I wouldn't think there was much more recourse to be had. In my opinion its a faulty product on release and not fit for purpose. The duty of care pre-release and the customer service post release is just frankly terrible but not uncommon nowadays I'm sorry to say. I'm surprised Blizzard themselves haven't weighed in on this one as its potentially damaging their reputation too. You might consider mentioning that if/when you ask for a refund. The game doesn't work for me either by the way as I have a perfectly capable but not supported by Destiny 2, AMD Phenom. I won't be buying an Intel chip anytime soon specifically just to play this or any other game.

 • Well put and pretty much the whole issue. Our brand of cpu worked in the beta, they changed something and now they dont work in the full release. No statement other than it's a bug, but they also drop the ball hard by adding that phenom II's are lower than the minimum specs as an excuse on their part. If this was the actual case, this would have been present in the beta, but it wasn't.

 • Yep without mentioning SSS3 before we buy - it is pure fraud
