Destiny 2 PC Crash during nessus story mission "Six"

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700
GPU: Sapphire RX Vega 64

Destination/Activity: Nessus/Story Mission "Six" (Also just exodus black area in general)
Description: If i move too far into the exodus black area during the story mission "Six" or even after having a friend complete the mission for me while I stand far enough back and then loading by failsafe in exodus black, my game freezes and then crashes. I have tried: Scan and Repair from the blizzard app, Uninstall and Reinstall, Hard boot, Attempting it on a second character (still failed). I do not know what to do and would just like to play the game, please help as soon as possible.

1 ReplyI found a silly solution!!! I tried a lot of things but nothing worked. I tried rolling back drivers to 17.7.1 (using this right now) because those let me play overwatch, newest driver makes the game crash too, like destiny. Used amd utilities yo clean all amd sorftware and drivers, then tuneup utilities to clean all trash and nothing helped. MY SOLUTION: Go to video settings and in "Render Resolution" I set it at 27%. Game looks like trash in this settings but it let me pass "Six" mission. My game always crashed at that no respawn part while Vex ambush but with those settings I could pass through it. After that, in the big battle between Vex and Fallen I had render at 27% because of fear for another crash xP but you can try to change at 100% in that part. I finished that battle and changed to 100%. Hope this help you guys, try render at 27% or maybe 50 or 80 to see if this work for you. If this help you then spread the word please! A lot of destiny players are having this issue. Sorry for my english!

3 RepliesNew Drivers out 17.10.3, fixed the "SIX" mission crash :) But took a small hit to FPS. was getting 75 low 135 max now getting lows of 55 and max of 130 :(

Same issue here. Vega 64 with a i7700k. Very disappointing. Happens even on the absolute lowest settings (though I can get closer before it crashes)

Multiplayer PvP works fine -CPU Intel I7 4790K -GPU AMD Radeon RX VEGA 64 (air cooled) -RAM 16Gb 1600Mhz DDR3 -PSU Corsair RM 750 -MB Asus H97 plus -GPU Driver version 17.10.2 -OS Windows 10 creators update latest version

Same issue, RX Vega 64 w/ 17.10.2 driver Glad I found this forum post, otherwise I'd still be going crazy trying to figure out what was making the game + my comp freeze. I'm sure AMD/Bungie will fix this in time, but it sucks that I can't progress the story. Maybe I'll bring the other two classes up to this point in the meantime? GL everyone.

same problem i7 7700k Vega 64 (17.10.1 driver, the .2 messed up my display where it would turn black every 5 seconds)

Edited by Rince: 10/26/2017 1:23:19 AMSame for me, I7-3820 and 980GTX always around the spot where the giant Vex spawns for the second time. Knocking the video options down from "highest" to "low" got me through it without a crash.

It's not just Failsafe mission for me, went to do some of the extra missions on titan and it had the same crash right at the end of the Sirens mission (did the mission 3 times and exactly the same crash at the same place in the mission, right at the end :( )

Getting the same issue. Graphics driver crashes when approaching the Exodus Black during the mission "Six". Cannot alt+tab out after the crash; have to force restart my PC.
