Sounds like the issue is due to the AMD processor being below the min spec. Phenom processors are just around 10 years old from all the ones I am seeing here and the minimum spec is in the Bulldozer Architecture for AMD processors.

My Intel i7-7700k is having the same problems. Running on a GTX 1080Ti, non stop crashes and artifacting. Game is so unstable its not even funny.
-
my i7-4790k is having issues as well. im also using a gtx 1080ti ftw3 and 16gb of ram. there is no way in hell our rigs are the issue. im seeing a bunch of other people now posting about game crashes as well.
-
Thats the first Intel one I have seen having issues from reading all these forums.
-
It's still to soon, I'm sure there is going to be ALOT more coming soon. I mean I can run Hellblade on Ultra settings at 100+ FPS, my PC is not the problem. As I am sure everybody else
-
yeah, i pretty much run EVERY other game on ultra with no issues, no idea what happening with D2
-
I just got a checkered screen crash!? Had to manually shut my computer down. I'm going to call it quits for the day. If this persist into the week without Bungie coming out and saying anything, then it'll be time to request a refund and move on :(
-
damn dude, that sucks! do you think it has something to do with their servers? i just cant think of any other reason why were having issues with just this game and no others. especially that our rigs are pretty decent. keep me updated bro
-
Will do

The issue here, is that the beta worked flawlessly. If the beta would have said "Sorry, your shitty CPU is old as -blam!-, buy a new one." then it'd be a different story. But that's not the story. The story here is the game worked fine for allllll these people, they all bought the game, and are now unable to play their game.
-
Edited by Skyline: 10/24/2017 7:59:05 PMStill though it was a beta regardless. Even says
SSSE3 Required: Destiny 2 will not run on processors without Supplemental Streaming SIMD Extensions 3 (SSSE3).
Meaning sounds like you need a new processor.
-
im running the game on an i7-4790k with a gtx 1080ti ftw3 and 16gb of ram and the game crashed on me three times. so No, its def not my pc rig...it has something to do with bungue
-
Still majority is due to the SSSE3 Phenom processor issue due to it being out of date.
-
that is weird but ok. did they say anything about this to people before they purchased the game? i mean, i know they always have a "minimum requirement" that shows what is needed but did they specifically say anything about SSSE3?
-
No but the fact that the minimum requirement processor is higher than the phenom processor means that it shouldn't have worked in the beta as well but apparently it did for some folks in the beta but now not working due to the SSSE3 issue. Their game seems to be crashing everytime they pick a character but you only said its only crashed 3 times from playing it. Different issue you are experiencing it sounds like.
-
In response to you. That was added post launch. So up until after the game was playable it did not say that SSSE3 was required
-
True statement. Sounds like they decided to not allow those almost 10 year old processors to work anymore.
-
Those 10 year old processors that still work like a dream and supported by almost everyone else including their beta. While agree we should be moving on from them soon it's expensive and not all of us can afford to drop 300$+ on a new card. Again the issue isn't that it doesn't work. It's that it did work according to them all the way until AFTER launch. Had it been changed after beta before launch way less of us would be upset. You're missing the critical context here
-
all of these are (it's wikipedia mind you) they support SSE3 AMD: Athlon 64 (since Venice Stepping E3 and San Diego Stepping E4) Athlon 64 X2 Athlon 64 FX (since San Diego Stepping E4) Opteron (since Stepping E4) Sempron (since Palermo. Stepping E3) Phenom Phenom II Athlon II Turion 64 Turion 64 X2 Turion X2 Turion X2 Ultra Turion II X2 Mobile Turion II X2 Ultra APU FX Series Zen

Beta is not just for the companies to test, it´s also for the users. And if you could easily play beta, why would you still check SSSE3 requirements? I was prepared to run on low settings, but was not prepared to not run the game. To implement SSSE3 shouldnt be a big deal, when other games have easily fixed it.
-
They put that out AFTER the release.
-
Edited by Skyline: 10/24/2017 8:03:11 PMAnd? You are still below the min spec. I am surprised it even worked in the beta.
-
In response to you again. it was NOT below minimum specs at time of purchase. It was only after an hour or two after launch that they updated it. Most all of us bought our copy during the beta. So basically they told us it would work for us for MONTHS only to last second say we don't match the required specs. It's BS and you know it.
-
Sounds like they decided to not allow those almost 10 year old processors to work anymore.
-
Correct. They decided that AFTER the game launched. So basically they decided to change the required specs instead fixing a bug. They even stated that it is a know issue and a bug although they haven't specified if they planned to fix it but did change minimum specs an HOUR after launch as an easier "fix"
