I'm also getting this issue. AMD Phenom II X4 955. Everything ran extremely smooth in the beta.
This is listed in their 'known issues' thread with the 'SSSE3 Required: Destiny 2 will not run on processors without Supplemental Streaming SIMD Extensions 3 (SSSE3)'. I hope that it being in the issues thread means they're going to fix it, otherwise everyone with an older AMD processor is out of luck
