Is it mentioned at all or did I miss something.

Edited by CheshireGrin92: 10/24/2017 7:01:21 AMRight now I'm assuming that it happens almost directly afterward and that our guardian is flying back home afterwards. We know it's at least somewhat cannon with the whole 'Saladin's young wolf.' Comment and the fact that they mention SIVA more then once in D2.

We rekt everything in the wrath off the machine. Got a rare new ship and a (primary) sidearm that we equipped. Called it a night and went to buy some beer on our way back to the tower. That was when we got no reponse from the tower and knew that something happened. (Fiction)

6 RepliesRoI never happened. D2 was already well into development when they cranked out RoI. They were being worked on concurrently by two different, separate dev teams, so none of the RoI content is really incorporated into D2. A Crucible map for Felwinter's and Shaxx calling you "Saladin's young wolf" in the opening mission; that's all we get. I was pretty disappointed by it, but I guess people have widely varied opinions on how much it actually matters.

6 RepliesDestiny 2 seems to take place just before TTK. So we kind of went back in time.

the entire point of the ROI campaign (instead of just adding content fluff) was to tell the story of the iron lords and how they were destroyed by the siva. so in the world of destiny 2 saladin has no clue who the -blam!- we are and we were never actually declared iron lords, it was basically a huge simulation. the only thing that actually mattered was the destruction of aksis :/

It's likely to be very soon after the events of RoI. In D1 year 3, this card was added during RoI time: http://www.ishtar-collective.net/cards/ghost-fragment-cayde-6?highlight=Cayde In it Cayde finds a 126 year old article about Nessus appearing in our system, and that it was delayed for unknown reasons. Per wiki, normal Nessus orbit is 121 years so 126 would be longer than normal., so if 126 years ago Nessus was in our system, then 126 years later, i.e.: current time, it would be about time for Nessus to come back. It doesn't say how long the delay was but based on that info, I'd say it's reasonable it was pretty shortly after RoI.

Edited by Volts42: 10/24/2017 1:31:17 AMOne year. Same as real-time.

I think that however long it was between Age of Triumph and Destiny 2 in real time is near the amount of time in game.
-
1 ReplyIt is mentioned that the ghost hopes there's no SIVA on nessus, so some time must have passed. Also, with the new tech the tower has in the first cutscene, I reason age of triumph is also canon story in between ROI and D2.

Destiny more or less seems to take place in real-time. The span between events roughly correlates with time between expansions.
