Additionally, as an initial troubleshooting step when encountering an issue, players should close and relaunch the Destiny 2 client and Blizzard application. For players who continue to encounter issues, it is recommended that players delete their existing CVARS.xml file. This file can be found in: \Users\USER_NAME\Appdata\Roaming\Bungie\DestinyPC\prefs\ Note that when relaunched, the Destiny 2 application will generate a fresh CVARS.xml file. Players who continue to encounter issues unrelated to the known issues list below should report them to the #PCSupport forum.
EMERGENT ISSUES For a list of emergent Destiny 2 PC issues, please see below:
• PC Armor and Inventory Issues: We are investigating reports from PC players who are encountering inventory and character issues after receiving Hotfix 1.2.3.2. Affected players should first try Scan and Repair in the Blizzard launcher. Added 8/13/2018 • Frame Stuttering in Area Transitions: We are investigating an issue where players may sometimes encounter delays/frame stutters when transitioning between spaces on planetary destinations when NVIDIA Nsight is installed. To mitigate this, players should open their Nsight Monitor application and visit the following setting: General > NVIDIA Display Driver > Driver Instrumentation. Here, players should make sure that Driver Instrumentation is disabled. • Long Load Times: We are investigating an issue in which some AMD systems may encounter exceptionally long load times when traveling to Destinations. • Frame Stuttering on Mars: We are investigating an issue in which some AMD and Intel configurations, especially those near the minimum specifications, may encounter frame stuttering in the Mars Destination. • Frame Stuttering: We are investigating an issue in which some Geforce 10 Series graphics cards may encounter frame stuttering or loss of frame rate. • Screen Flicker or Static: We are investigating an issue in which an AMD Rx Vega graphics card using a 4k Monitor set to non-native resolutions with HRD may cause screen flickering or static. • Cannot Invite to Friends List: Players that are at the Friends list cap on the Blizzard Battle.net Launcher cannot add new Friends. Players must make a room on their Friends list to be able to add new Friends again. • Text Chat: When in a Strike, players are not able to access the local chat for that Destination area. • HDR Color Oversaturated: We are investigating an issue in which enabling HDR with the NVIDIA GTX660 may cause the screen to become oversaturated. • Scan and Repair: In some cases, players may repeatedly receive an error directing them to use the Scan and Repair tool, but the tool reports “no problems found.” For troubleshooting steps to take when this occurs, click here. • BUFFALO Errors on multiple PCs: Players may encounter BUFFALO errors when logging in to Destiny 2 on multiple PCs at the same time. To prevent this issue, players must ensure that they are logged out of Destiny 2 on any PC that they do not currently intend to play on. • TRUMPET Errors: Players who are encountering TRUMPET errors on PC may attempt to work around this issue by changing Blizzard Region, or unfriending deleted Battle.net accounts from their Battle.net friends list. More info here. • SAXOPHONE Errors when Launching: Players may erroneously encounter SAXOPHONE errors when launching the Destiny 2 application directly from the .exe file. Players who encounter this issue must close the application and relaunch through Blizzard’s Battle.net app. • Login after Disconnects: A generic error code may appear to players who lose internet connection, which may block an affected player from logging back in even after reconnecting. Players who believe they are encountering this issue should close the Destiny 2 application and relaunch.
