Well, I've "heard" some fuzz about stuff being taken away at the end of a season and the introduction of new items, from the twitchcon. Don't know about other people but for me that's somewhat concerning. Let's tale the "auras" for instance, I don't care about them at all, since we know beforehand that they disappear at the weekly reset. I can't do the raid every week (heck, I yet to do it for the first time!), so why bother? But about, lets say the sparrows or ships, if Bungie takes away the ones I've already got that would make me mad. That would be a very bad way to create loot hunt desire (why on earth to grind for stuff that will vanish).
Now, maybe they are referring to taking away stuff from the pool of possible items from the previous season (not taking away already earned stuff from players) and introducing new stuff, and if so, then I'm okay. People who have been playing for longer will have items to distinguish them from new players.
I just feel like voicing this concern before things rollout, rather than complaining afterwards. The details are too blurry as of right now. In other words I would like some clarification from Bungie, regarding how they are planning to implement the new season(s).
How about you guys?
Edit: found the twitchcon stream uploaded to YouTube. You guys are right, they did mention specifically how the loot will be handled (old vs new stuff) so this is a definite answer to my concern.
As a side note, I would like to point out the importance to keep players informed, this kind of speculation is not good for neither party. Yes I know, they're probably secretive because things were not decided yet. Sharing only one power of a road map has its consequences, specially when trust is lacking.
Thanks for all of you kind enough to jump in and share useful info, as for the trollers, well, keep on trolling... you'll eventually achieve what you're aiming for...

You literally just made this post to moan about something.

4 RepliesJust plain looking for things to moan about. Muted

1 ReplyEdited by RPColten: 10/23/2017 7:13:56 AMBungie has never taken items out of the games database and consequently player inventory's since launch in 2014. To my knowledge everything that was obtainable continued to be obtainable at any point so long as the activity specific to it was active. Any unique event items have always been either pulled from the loot pool (so they can't be acquired) or the special event was simply removed from the activity roster. The exception to this would be the rare-quality masks tied to the 2015 Festival of the Lost event that saw both rare and legendary tier masks, with the legendary variety being permanent while the rare tier vanished.

The system is identical to D1's, they won't be removing anything from you that you earned, only what's in the loot pool.
-
2 RepliesThey aren’t taking things off you, the loot pool will change in each season. So you’ve got that season to collect those items as they won’t come back in the following season... that’s what I read from it anyways.
-
pretty sure it will be liek D1 , new content brings with it new stuff. all your old stuff will still be there, just the vendor's items will change.
-
9 RepliesThe only thinngs taken away are the perks on the banner. And we have know that since day 1.
-
1 ReplyYou will keep everything you have. Bungie stated that in the TwitchCon stream.

3 RepliesEdited by EMUracing: 10/23/2017 5:17:00 AMTaking things out of the loot pool and adding new stuff is almost like removing it from your inventory with the limited vault space. Collected a few energy and power weapons in each element (so you don't need to consume a mod and glimmer to switch elements)? gonna have to start making space for the new drops, and delete them. Bungie seriously didn't think out the vault space properly, especially if 1/4 is full of mods and shaders. Then space for extra armor sets with different mod variations... does bungie think that people are going to swap mods in and out? No, they get a different piece of armor that may have better attributes for the build. With such vault limitations, we will need to delete things we don't want to. I deleted my hunter to recreate him and not enable 6 shooter or quiver. With that, I purged my vault of needless items, and was still at 155/200 before I put my hunters gear in (which brought it up to 195). We were told vault space will not be a problem, but it is... and this is a collector game now?

1 ReplyThey're just making it so new players will never have a chance to get old items. Great way to drive away new players, but at least they'll have already paid their $60!
-
games like rainbow and overwatch do the same thing
-
No different than every DLC release in D1
-
Destiny has no competition
-
They are not removing loot you already hold. The loot pool will re-fresh with new items. Better Devils? Get one before the season ends. That kind of thing.
-
Welcome to the Destiny franchise. Every time Bungie "adds" something to it they take away more.
-
Pretty sure its gonna be like D1 You will keep your loot but vendors will change their loot
-
4 RepliesSure, Bungie has made some stupid choices in the past, but I don't think they'd be stupid enough to outright take our hard earned loot away from our inventories.
-
You’re not going to lose anything you already have. Certain vendors are going to have their inventory change including eververse.
-
dude massive auto rifle nerf inbound loooool . Man if they nerf shit into the ground again with every season i'm done..........and onto your concern , it's the pool of items not what you have.
-
No mate, it's essentially the same as Destiny 1. Things were taken out of the loot pool with each expansion or dlc. It's the same thing, if you have it.
