Hi everyone and Bungie👂 I am a deaf guardian and have been playing Destiny on xbox1 since the Taken King As a deaf guardian I have managed with the help of some really great friends to complete all the raids on normal and heroic modes and all the end game activities in destiny 1. In D2 I’ve got 3 guardians over 300 power and even managed to complete the normal leviathan raid with some difficulty due to the changes Bungie has made in the need for extra communication with a microphone. Obviously as a deaf guardian, and I mean profoundly deaf, I can’t use a mic so I’ve had to come up with ways of doing things to get past certain parts of the raid (the gauntlet and void) As a deaf guardian I don’t expect Bungie to alter the game to make thing easy for me or the rest of the deaf community but what I don’t expect is for them to completely ignore the deaf destiny community and make changes to the heroic raid so that we are almost excluded from it ! Bungie do you not realise that not only do you have a deaf community clans/groups but you also have people terrified by the thought of using a mic ? Yes some may say “it’s part of the game get used to it” but not everyone can use or has the confidence to use a mic so why incorporate this into the end game ? In D1 though a mic may have been beneficial in some activities it was in no way necessary and I completed every raid in every mode without one, now the deaf community and those unable to use a mic are being excluded in D2 because ? I’m realistic enough to know nothing will change with any content already released and that it will be up to people like me to find our own work arounds or simply not attempt the end game activities. Bungie come on less of the microphone necessity, give us all the chance to complete the end game activities, I don’t want you to make it easy I want the challenge, but please Bungie cut the mic out. Here’s hoping any future content will not need a microphone to complete.
