So true. I questioned from the start why they were bothering to change core mechanics that didnt need changed. By doing so they made the game not feel like Destiny anymore.
My hope is they take the time to undue everything and get back to D1 basics. Imo that’d be much better than them wasting time pushing out content for a game that isnt even fun to play. Let’s hope they make the right decision.

Edited by Vercingetorix07: 10/20/2017 7:07:46 PMSmith was in charge of D2, not Chris Barrett. Barrett was somewhat in charge of TTK (Smith only touched KF) and RoI (as well as WotM which Smith had NO part in). Smith has a habit of being out if touch with players and pushing his ideas, regardless of whether or not others agree. I’m pretty sure Smith is partly to blame.

Barrett was the art director for Destiny until he was promoted in 2016 to be the game director for Rise of Iron. Luke Smith was the game director for The Taken King.
-
Yeah, that totally explains why WotM was so good. I’d demote or fire Luke Smith.
-
So what explains why TTK was the most widely accepted expansion for D1?
-
It was a major improvement but left some things out. My personal opinion.
-
Every expansion or update is bound to leave things out, or be in need of some tweaks. That's the nature of game design. The fact that it was a major improvement under the supervision of Luke Smith is what matters.

Damn well that explains why WOTM was sooo much better than KF and TTK was so good. Smith should probably be fired, he’s terrible at his job.
