Bungie: PLEASE make red around radar brighter...
Attn: Bungie
This is a serious request concerning the brightness of the red rings around the radar letting us know the direction enemies are at. I have posted previously concerning this issue but never received any response so I thought I would try again. Especially since I have discovered that there are a lot of other gamers who have complained about this as well.
I am an adult gamer who finds seeing the red enemy directional color around the radar not only hard to see a lot of the time, but also almost impossible to see at certain other times. For instance, if a light colored object is behind the radar when I activate it, I cannot see the red at all, thus causing me to have to rotate around until I can get a darker wall or other object behind it just to see the red around the radar. This of course is terribly inconvenient and has caused me to have several deaths because of it. Due to these problems, I was just wondering something: Could you please make the red around the radar brighter so we could all see it better?

Totally agree that the red radar is frustrating and even impossible to see a lot of the time. For me, this is because I have 40 year old eyes and a mild case of Protanopia color blindness, which makes the translucent red color very difficult to see. I imagine most people don't complain as much about not being able to see the radar because they don't have the issues I do. Using the Protanopia colorblind setting to force a yellow radar does help as another poster suggested, but I still find the yellow radar a little hard to see as well. I agree with OP that it would be so much better if Bungie could just make the red radar easier to see. This could easily be done by just giving us the option to adjust the opacity of the radar to a solid or nearly solid color. I've spent so much of my time in game turning to look for a darker background to put the radar up against so I can actually see it, which of course puts me at a competitive disadvantage when I'm playing against others who don't have this issue. I would really love it if I didn't have to do this anymore.

Thanks to everyone who posted any positive comments in order to try and help me. I am very pleased to see so many people trying to interject helpful advice. I have already looked into the color blind settings and although I have not been totally satisfied yet, I will continue trying to experiment with it. The only sad thing about this thing is the fact that although many of you tried to help, Bungie itself never bothered to respond. Now, while I know that they cannot possibly respond to every single post, comment, suggestion, or complaint, you would think that at the very least they could pretend to care. You try using the options in the settings menu i was having a similar problem and switched some things around and it fixed it wish i would have paid more attention to what i changed but not sure what exactly might have been color blind settings

This new radar sucks so much I can't tell you how many times in watching the radar red right in from of me straight ahead the whole time then all of a sudden they are on one side or the other not directly in front of me like the radar says. And this is titans and warlocks not hunters using smoke and invis to trick me because that's what I do. The radar feels so inaccurate to me

I'm a Titan so I generally hip-fire and ammo dump in several directions at once during all situations, without aiming or thinking. You may find this helps as well.

They ve definitely nerfed the radar, hated it but so is a million other things in D2 that made it suck so bad.

It's a red-green setting and it changes the radar to yellow as well as a few minor things such as tags and engrams slightly. It's what I've used since the setting came out because I can't see red that well. You might have protanomaly, try taking this. http://enchroma.com/test/instructions/ I know it's online, but it matched up with what I was told at an actual opthamologist's office.

1 ReplyIt's called POV or FOV, and on the console It's piss poor, that's your real issue. You can't see what's around you or directly in front of you at times. Get the PC version.

so not only is radar so good now, that you can not get a flank across the map without everyone knowing but now you want it buffed. I hope bungie doesn't listen to these pvp noobs who have no idea what balance means

After playing first person shooters since modern warfare, I'm not having this issue nor play with anyone who has it. Maybe it's something you could work on? Radar to a lot of players is frustrating as it makes flanks nearly impossible as well as is an arrow saying here they are

I think it might be your tv or your brightness/contrast settings. Not heard anyone else complain about this before, that’s the only reason I say it might be your tv. If it’s fading out on light colors sounds like your contrast is too low or your brightness is up too high or both. If you feel your tv setting are good maybe just play with the in game settings instead

Never even noticed this bro hope they get it sorted for you. Maybe in the interim turn the brightness up on your tv? Not sure if that will help just a suggestion.

I'm not saying your problem isn't legitimate, but I've never had this problem. Maybe it's your brightness settings?

Agreed! Its too transparent/washed out in certain lighting.

You can change the colour blind settings to change it from red which may help.
