Nope, not sure why you feel let down and disappointed. Where you not a Vanilla D1 player? Bungies design philosophy is based around an ever changing world.

That is not how they sold us the game at E3. What has vanilla D1 got to do with D2?

What exactly did they sell you at E3. Because if you where here during year 1. A lot of the post the last month are identical to the first month. It's Bungies design philosophy. Destiny 2 isn't going to be the same game 6 months from now or 3 year later.
