There is...and I think those kinds of tweaks are things that Bungie is open to considering...and probably should change. I think a lot of frustration is coming from the fact that Bungie has (imo) needlessly removed a lot of in-game metrics that contributed to a sense of progression. Faction reputation....and faction LEVELS are gone. No vanguard level. No Crucible level. No faction levels. Just reward packages every 20 tokens. So I think a lot of the more externally motivated players are kind of feeling like a hamster on an excersize wheel. Doing all these things, and feeling (to them) no sense of getting anywhere. Because all the "mile markers" have been removed from the road....and the landscape all looks the same (turn in 20 tokens, get a package). The other issue (Activision) is that many thing that used to be activity-related rewards----special ships, special sparrows----have been taken out of the game and LOCKED behind the Eververse wall. Granted you can earn these things with game play (Bright engrams) but everything that you dont' purchase with either money or "bright dust" is PURE RNG. Not only have the removed any sense of "specialness" that the externally motivated players crave, they've also removed any sense of AGENCY. If I see someone with a really cool sparrow or ship that I like...there is not specific game activity I can do to get that item. I just have to keep playing and hope I get lucky.....or just BUY the thing if you get lucky enough for Eververse to sell it one week. I think Bungie needs to re-think Eververse (again) and take a lot of those items out from behind that paywall, and put them BACK into the game. Back into the loot pool. Because the void that a lot of people are complaiing about is the departure of the "quests" that were the means of earning a lot fo the things that are now "lootboxes" and microtransactions.
