Wow... that’s not a bad concept. Level up a weapon and make it more powerful in PvE... and vice versa. What if you could struggle through a crap weapon only to make it worth a damn... what if a gun totally sucked when you got it, only for it to be a beast when you got it top tiered and fully maxed out to its potential... this might make the grind worth a damn. IMO...

A thousand kills to unlock each perk sounds about right. Roughly 10 strikes. If the end product was worth it I'd grind the shite out of the game!

So make it like D1? Start with a shit weapon and grind out levels and planetary materials to make it better.

Exactly! Only this concept has perks that are only active in PvE allowing for weapon balancing in PvE and PvP to become somewhat separated, making this version WAY better than D1.
