This is why we needed those shotguns and snipers and stickies that people endlessly complained about. With a pure primary meta, you get a plague of teamshooting, and the team takes zero casualties so they can keep doing it endlessly.
Had we had shotties or stickies available, we could take a teamshooter with us, send them back to a respawn point far away from their team. Now, they stay together. And the casualties keep mounting.

Yep, special weapons actually created balance in D1 contrary to your typical nub’s belief.

Indeed. Stickies, Ice Breaker, and Invective allowed us to counter teamshooters after that hateful nerf, but there was no escape after D2 dropped.

Every time I got faced against a set team in skirm I would end up having to post with a shotty once my team got wiped and they were looking to zerg me. Unless they were garbo, my goal was always to at least neutral a trade. Not in D2.

Trades can at least knock a hole in a teamshooter posse. It doesn't sound like much, but for three years, it turned teamshooters from invincible to controllable. Now, all quarantines are lifted, and the teamshooter infection is spreading out of control. With Bungie fanning the flames with their new Crucible mechanics (like counting assists as kills).
