I'm a grown man with a family, a professional job (firefighter), a side job, and other responsibilities. But, I also enjoy video games, they are fun, entertaining, and a great stress reliever. I play with 3 other fireman while on duty to help us pass the 24 hour work shifts.
I'm ok at crucible (not great) my "Fight Forever" emblem says I have a 1.84 k/d ratio. We compete in Quickplay and even Competitive crucible and win a few and lose a few. And it's a lot of fun, but, if we dare step foot in a Trials match we are quickly thumped in a matter of minutes by people wearing their emblems that show they have over 600 and 700 Trial match wins. Or even 60-100 flawless completed runs already.
I couldn't figure out why these guys are so good. So I started to google some of these gamer-tag names. Most searches brought me to a app called "Twitch". A streamer app, so off to Twitch world I went. These players are professional streamers that make a living streaming playing video games. Their followers tip cash, or sub (costs $$$) there streams on the internet to make money off of them. And in return they either charge or have random raffles and auctions for their followers to be the winner of getting a "carry" thru a flawless Trial run.
So that's why we're getting our butts kicked? I'm forced to play against Profession gamers in an E-sport arena. I'm sorry Bungie, but if I would have known you made this game (or Trials) which is a major part of the game. Considering it lasts 3 days of the week and the best gear and weapons drop from the event. I wouldn't have bought the game. Not because it's bad, but, simply because I know my friends and I aren't good enough to compete in a professional E-sport environment.
This saddens me, why? My friends got frustrated this weekend after multiple Trial thumpings and suggested we move on to other games like Battlefield 1, Overwatch, or looking forward to COD: WW1. Not because they are better games, but simply because it's not fun to compete out of our class and get our brains beat in constantly. I enjoyed Destiny 1 & 2, but we have realized we aren't good enough for it. We aren't quitting Destiny, Destiny quit us. For what? Streamers? Professional gamers? Does Bungie get a cut of the money from people streaming Destiny on Twitch?
Here is a suggestion. Only allow Trials gear and weapons to be used in Trials, since we're not good enough to get any of it. And it's just not us, only 18% off all Destiny players have won a single Trials match (based on the game achievement for it). So to keep it fair for the other 82% of us just keep that gear and those weapons in that event and out of regular crucible games.

It's true Trials has mostly devolved into a mode for streamers or wanna be streamers. But I think everyone is mostly fed up with that trials twitch culture and it is on the decline, for Destiny at least.

2 RepliesStreamers are at aids of games
Considering it lasts 3 days of the week and the best gear and weapons drop from the event.
Weapon wise, only the Prosecutor is a great weapon. I agree the armor looks awesome though.

2 RepliesYour post isn't 100% accurate. I have gone flawless every weekend so far, and I like you have a career that Is in no way tied to gaming. If you ever want help going flawless all you have to do is add me, if you are on ps4 that is. My team doesn't ask for money, or charge a penny. We help people go flawless because we love the game and we really enjoy crucible.

flawless dosnt get ya anything over the top amazing or even that great,if ya enjoy the challenge of pvp just complete the challenges and shoot for a few wins...with the token system you can still get everything just by playing except for the very slightly different colored armor, guns are all the same...only thing trials flawless kids get is an emblem. at least you have people to play with,so many casuals and solo players that wont even get to exp the challenge
-
60-100 flawless runs completed already? Stopped reading there. It's impossible hence your whole post is bs.

17 RepliesHoly crap, you’ve got to be kidding me. You’re a grown man. A firefighter. Yes, there’s a bunch of kids out there that are better at video games than you. Get over it. If you enjoy the game, keep playing. If you don’t, stop playing. Trials is an option. If you don’t like that option, pick any of the other multitude of options the game presets to you. Specifically, the occasional Comp game with a bunch of Quickplay sprinkled in. If you don’t enjoy getting blasted in Trials, don’t play Trials. This is insane.

3 Repliesif you see this message please reply back to me as soon as possible, i can give you a hand and no im not a famous youtuber or streamer with a thousand people watching, but i've got something way better for ya :)

1 ReplyThe trials gear isn’t even super amazing imo. I do better with IB Pulse and SMG. Don’t restrict people’s way to play this game.

Edited by YakFruit: 10/19/2017 12:20:34 AMDont go for flawless, man. You just need a few wins to get the engrams. The chances of getting stomped by these professionals is small. The chances of getting stomped by some random player is much higher. And the trials gear sucks. I have all of em and use none of it. lol

If you feel this way, you shouldn't be playing trials. These posts complaining about lack of skill to earn things in the game is what got Destiny to where it is now, a very, VERY easy game with nothing to do... it's so casual friendly and trials is literally the only thing not every casual can do and it should stay that way.
-
They said in Destiny 1. Flawless isn't for every body. So basically git gud. I can't be a fireman just because I want to be one....
-
Just because you cant compete like everyone else to get gear dosent mean you should be entitled to free gear due to to you feeling like you do. Trials is not nor has it ever been for the average player.

6 RepliesFirstly, You are a firefighter? A symbol of a true man if i have ever, ever known. My Great-Grand Father was the Deputy Fire Chief of Salem MA. Somehow i cant imagine he ever writing this. You do know that not every winner of trials is a streamer. right? And You do Know that Bungie already freaking broke this Game for you and your friends. I'm a U.S Army O.I.F Combat Veteran, Father of two. And i will never, ever probably Make it Flawless, as i dont have the time commitment to train as a team, with a team, but i have improved, and a team can improve. I wish to God i could show this post to your firehouse. Your post, sums up why this game is awful, you personify what is wrong with this world. Be ashamed, and then please leave and never return, please, go now!

1 ReplyDidn’t even finish. Grown man crying about not doing well in trials and some piss poor justification streamers playing trials is ruining your experience. Get better. Get a better fire team. Go flawless. I’ve seen streamers defeated multiple times, easily out played. They win primarily due to communication and a good fire team. Still... you’re a grown man! Come on...

Edited by Seg: 10/18/2017 8:02:21 PMGit gud

I’ll say this I hate paid carries if you do that you are exploiting the game. But this is the “competitive” mode if you’re upset about it don’t play it’s designed to reward the people who are better at the game.

1 ReplyEdited by Silent Zer0: 10/18/2017 3:37:09 PMNever played trials and have the scout, auto rifle and shotgun from clan engrams! God bless clan engrams....

1 ReplyI average 1.0kd went in with others of the same kd. First card first match was a practice to get the map layout. This was a week ago. Second card we team shot and stuck togethe, besides some sneaky tricks to throw them off where we were going like back stepping areas to ping the radar and such. But always stayed as a team. Used our abilitys well and communication is key. Call out if you see someone, call out the zones. Call out call out call out. Our last match on the second card came down to 1v1 we took Victory and got out "lighthouse".. That was it for me one flawless is enough till next year if destiny 2 is a thing

Off topic, but thank you for your service (firefighter).
-
4 RepliesTrials ain’t for everybody to go flawless, if u don’t go flawless or complete it then u dont it’s that simple, u don’t need too, it’s basically for the best, just enjoy it or don’t okay it, that’s what I suggest
-
You're not good enough then.
-
A grown man doesn't "have to" do any of those things.
-
If you like challenge, then go for it. If not, then don't play it, you're not forced to do anything.
-
6 RepliesIf trials was truly for the best of the best then they'd take out the radar. It was HILARIOUS the amount of crying that went on here when bungie took the radar out of trials during halloween I think it was. Trials should always be inferno mode, imho.

5 RepliesOr they could add a mercy
