Hi guys, I recently got Destiny 2 for xbox one and verified my account using the same email I used to use for my old Bungie.net account (which I had for the past 8 years) linked to my old gamertag; https://www.bungie.net/en/Profile/254/333893/Spec%20Ops297
However instead of the microsoft account and bungie.net accounts linking it's given me a new one meaning I've lost my 8 year old BNET account :(
Is there any way to link the older bungie.net account with my current xbox/ms account?

There was plenty of time and warning, both on this site, on their social media, that if you didn't migrate your Bungie.net profile to using one of the proper logins, that login access would be lost and the account would be orphaned because it would no longer have a way to log into it. Sadly, with the age of your account and how long ago it was orphaned, Bungie will not assist you in its recovery; they have a system in place for accounts that were orphaned within the last 90 days, but beyond that is non-recoverable at this point; so yes, you've lost access to your old Bungie.net profile and must deal with having a new one. No, there's nothing you can do about it, regardless of how much you feel you deserve it by being a long-time profile-holder. It sucks, but it is what it is and it's their policy.
