It’s not, it’s a metaphor for how grindy and unrewarding it is that it’s like a pay2win game. where getting rewards you could pay to get can be unlocked by pouring countless hours into it. Destiny has the countless hours to make minimal progress without the pay aspect.
I guess we're playing different games then D1 I played countless hours to make minimal progression. Destiny 2 progression and weapon drops are streamlined and easy to achieve in just a few days vs. forever 29 an grinding for slightly better God rolls. Hence why people are already bored.
Do you fish? I do and I can tell you that it's no fun to hook a fish and land it right away. The fun comes when you hook a fish and it goes on several runs and takes you a while to land it.
Ya? And how many of the exact same weapon have you gotten just to dismantle, to then just take those parts to the gunsmith to get more duplicates that you then dismantle? What are you gonna do once you hit max power? What is even the point of max power besides barring access?
Streamlined progression? You mean doing weekly milestones and then waiting until reset? Sound suspiciously like D1, only being able to do activities for high level rewards once a week. The state of D1 now, I can do patrols, level up a faction and immediately get a piece of gear that's on par or higher than what my max level is at. I can do archons forge and have the same thing happen. During IB in D1 I knew I would get gear that was more powerful. In D2 I can grind rep as much as I want with tokens and the gear I get will ALWAYS be 5-10 power lower than what I'm at. Unless of course I'm doing a weekly milestone which will still be a duplicate anyway.
There's no variety, and there's no excuse for things to be worse than what D1 is now.
