Yes thier not all the same. Some have similarities. What is the usual goal in this games? Save human kind.

I dont see how these selections work 1st: no Shep and chief are to different to be rank in the same class. MC is a simple super-soldier in power armour who can fight alone or with back up. Shepard is a commander and works best in the leadering seat telling his squad what to do and keeping them alive 2nd: just cause they both look the same dont make them act the same elites are a honor before death kind of people (like the korgan) but also are noble and respect an enemy in a sence. The Turians altough have the honor gig aint the kind to want to die in a fight 3rd: okay this I can see brutes and krogan have alot in comman but when your making an alien race whos got the whole tribal warrior culture going on its hard to make it unique I guess (atleast the krogan how rudundent nerve systems to fall back on if the two fought) 4th: meh 2 AI's I cant see the problem here 5th: Keyes and Anderson dont really seem that alike to me...keyes is a risk taker but also prefers his men not getting killed by what i've seen (that being halo CE only) anderson is more a by the book unless it stops him doing the right thing kinda guy 6th: I had to think this one over. you see legion aint 1 guy hes over a million in one so in a sence you could say legion is a compairson of the elites in Halo 3 XD 7th: same sorry as brutekrogan 8th: well flood are out to eat everything and thats it. the Reapers we dont know what there true goal behind the whole "kill, reset, wait, kill" and reapeat thing but what we assume it that its like maintinace to them

I think that Mass Effect is a more realistic bent(aside from Reapers and protheans) on the future of humanity than anything before. Even though there are aliens, they just represent different human archetypes. In Star Wars just about anything is possible and it is a more fancifull outlook on scifi Halo is a mix because they had to consider mp gameplay balance and a feeling of femiliarity with humans, hence the normal style guns and archetecture of the humans. One thing I wish scifi would stop harping on is the notion of "One-World Government" which I dispise.

Not at all. When the Reapers modified the Protheans they completely messed with the DNA so technically still Prothean but designed to be slaves and not to resist. The Flood infect, they don't rewrite the DNA, they need a host to grow and feed. They consume the living host and use their biomass as a means to evolve and to fit a role(Combat, carrier etc.). Then there are pure flood forms like in Halo 3 that don't need a living host to shift forms, but still need living organisms to feed. One distorts the DNA to make slaves, the other infects and feeds off of living creatures.

I'm saying, that the effect of the Reapers on the Protheans is much like when a Flood infects someone. They are forced to do what the Flood Form wants, against their will, same way the effects of indoctrination, or whatever the hell the Reapers did to the Protheans, turned them into their slaves. They also "heavily modified" them. Same way a Flood form starts bursting out tentacles for melee and changes the appearance of their host by a lot. That is, also, a modification. Aside from looks they are completely different with radically different backgrounds and lore. 3. Same as #2 except they don't look alike. 4. Arbiter=Teal'C Both species once fought you. ZOMG! Halo ripped off Stargate SG-1 no wai! Though to be honest, Halo didn't really come up with any new conventions at all, and neither did Mass Effect. There's just too much science fiction already established that something has already been thought of, or if it hasn't, would probably be something far too radical to be accepted by mainstream people who aren't into sci-fi.
