I feel you, I have mixed feelings with the Leviathan raid. I love the Calus fight. WotM is my favorite raid, war machine+aksis 2nd phase and voksis were amazing. Buuuut, the other raids had their own ups and downs.
Vog. Atmosphere was great. Glitches and cheeses nearly destroyed the experience.
"Let's all hide up here with icebreakers for the oracle's."😒
Gorgons lair was dumb.
Templar just throw any vortex grenade and watch him slide off lol.
Atheon was extremely glitchy.
Corta's End. The lamp run is my favorite part. It all goes downhill after that though. People cheesed bridge. The final boss was pretty much a one man fight while the fireteam jacked off and shot rockets every few minutes.
Kings Fall. Once again, great atmosphere. Great boss fights too, golgaroth and warpriest were really fun. Add in the challenge modes and we've got a bonafide raid experience! Sisters were bad though, the random relic holder mechanic was bad. It sucks being stuck at a boss because one or two guys fail at jumping. Oryx was ok, but too reliant on weapon loadouts( everyone has to use ToM) and you need Titans for their bubbles. Fight seemed like it took 20 minutes and I had some very looooong nights doing that right.
WotM. Already mentioned is my fav.
Leviathan. Atmosphere, is meh whatever nothing to look at, I don't get a sense of dread or discovery like the other raids. This raid is extremely mechanic heavy, which is ironic because people don't want bullet sponge raids and endless adds but I definitely didn't sense a good balance. The banner part is cool, would've been better with some mini bosses. Dogs is so lame and easy. Baths also is too easy. Gauntlet I don't mind because it kind of mixes things up. And of course Calus I like, the final boss fight, (it's actually a boss fight). Also want to mention that I enjoy the underbelly and the chests. It's like a bonus. Overall though, I didn't like the atmosphere, I also don't like the layout of the encounters. It didn't feel like a raid. A raid is supposed to feel like your going into the villians backyard and infiltrate his domain and conquer it. Felt like a giant obstacle course, like a hamster in a maze. I understand what the lore suggests (Calus testing the gaurdians) but that doesn't cut it for me. Also, where the hell are the armor ornaments and challenges?
